Interchangeable spikes without welding. Drill recessed holes into the wood. Insert the nuts into the recessed holes and slide the pipe on top of it. When you screw the bolts in, the nuts will stay because they're larger than the holes in the pipe. Also, be sure to put a little piece of metal under the nut so that the bolt doesn't dig into the wood as you torque down.

Just a bit of info: Spikes on clubs aren't for penetrating, they're for focusing the force of a blow into a smaller surface area transferring more power to the target. It's the percussive force that causes the damage, they can kill people wearing helmets without penetrating the helmet and padding underneath. Last thing you want when attacking is a spike stuck in a dead guys head while other people/zombies are trying to get at you. If you're hitting someone without a helmet flat square 1cm long spikes would be the better option. Btw im not knocking this video, this video is awesome, keep up the good work dude i'v subscribed :)

I think I'd go with the short spikes at all times. The long spikes are more likely to be caught in a zombie head at the beginning of the apocalypse when the zombies are more intact. The last thing you want in this situation is for your weapon to be stuck in an enemy's head.
@lecobra4184 жыл бұрын
A blunt weapon is by essence a weapon designed to cause heavy unprnetrating traumatic injuries. The long bolts are making the club weaker, even if sharpened as spikes, in a zombie outbreak scenario they would get stuck inside a zombie skull after the first blow. The shorter bolts are definitely better as it would performs kinda like a knuckle. Penetrating short ranged weapons such as knives would, I think, only work onscreen. Clubs, hammers or war hammers would be ideal for close ranged combat as you could either kill the zombie rather quickly or bust its legs and then run. Nice video I really dig that design!

On the drilling holes on the bat and to epoxy the nuts inside. Something to strengthen the hold ub might be to drill the hole on the outer metal pipe sheath just to the diameter of the inside of the nut so your not only using epoxy, but your using the pipe as part of the stabilizer for the nut and epoxy.

Yeah I think the bolt heads would get stuck pretty easily. I would have preferred boiled linseed treatment of the handle. It is such a shame but maces and flails are illegal in Australia. If they weren't I would probably have a shed full of experiments lol. They seem to ban just about anything that is fun in Australia. So I will have to live vicariously through you at this point. Keep up the awesome work. Maybe you can make a flail next. But I would love to see more knife videos too.

Even welds scan break. Granted the nuts were only tack welded, but at around 8:10 in the video, one breaks off. Sorry, me and my over focused sense of observation. Probably wouldn't have noticed, if it wasn't in slow motion. 😁

What do you think would make the most durable base for a club?
@FargoFX7 жыл бұрын
Babushka Gopnik That’s a good question. I like hardwood because it’s relatively light and very strong. They use Hickory for a lot of tool handles for good reason. But I wouldn’t really make a recommendation except just to experiment.

Try it with a pipe cap on the top and no bolt-spikes. This would be a configuration someone without a welder could fabricate, but I’m betting would still be quite effective.

The Nocturnal Alchemist Good question, these tunes Actually came from KZbin’s resources. They have a bunch of royalty-free music they offer to video creators. But I also have some that I bought years ago from a place called videocopilot.net I’m looking into some other options too.

Would you recommend using JB Weld if you don't have access to a welder? I'm thinking drill down thru the pipe and slightly into the wood. JB Weld the nuts to the pipe. More epoxy in the holes and thread the bolts in. I would be using short bolts for this.
