You have 100% missunderstood the vacuum gun principal. You're suppose to create a vacuum in front of the projectile; you're creating a vacuum behind the projectile and relying on the momentum of the air which is pretty much nothing. If you put the cork the other end of the barrel in front of the ball valve, then sucked the air out of the barrel, and then open the ball valve, the air wants to rush in but the cork is in the way, so the cork is pushed forward into the vacuum and experiences almost no air resistance as it moves forward.

I think that if you use a check valve at the hose, maybe it will works, ( that is to prevent that the air incoming from valve won´t goes to the vacuum barrel too wich is happening with your design). good luck

Cool vacuum gun, it is great to see new stuff tried and then shared with 1000s to make world more fun. Cork seems to get stuck, maybe try foil taped over end as burst valve and put BB projectile by the valve by holding it at angle... I wonder if vacuum launching of toy rockets and pingpong balls could be a funny hobby, chemical rockets burn and hurt when they go wrong... How high do ping pong balls go if launched, I can't find a chart. GREAT VIDEO ON VAC GUN, WHAT A COOL IDEA TO NOW LET OTHERS TRY TO DO.

Use zip ties to secure the tubing and it will help you reach lower pressure...a sealant or glue would only help.. so why none is used confuses me...sealing 2 sides is always better than 1...or none like here

I've never even heard about vacuum gun before, but I like the idea. Why don't you try putting some zip ties on the connections of the pipe? I think it could solve your leakage problem.

I don't work because of the valve be issued...how about installing the valve somewhere in your house and use a simple relay and button...quick release is what is needed

Ever heard of a relay?..you know those devices used in electronics to send power to something when it calls for it... like pushing a button to fire a vacuum gun instead of twisting a valve by hand to fire..for accuracy maybe might help a bit

There is no such thing as 15 psi of vacuum..I can go for days with this video

Sea level atmospheric pressure is ~15psi. So 15 psi of vacuum means -15 gauge psi.

@@technicolorskies5432 correct 14.7 psi... pulling a vacuum will reduce psi inside. I think you are referring to difference in psi between inside and outside of chamber. No such thing as negative psi by itself
