Hopefully they will ship to US without a huge price. Edit: they do not ship outside UK. if anyone knows a place that does ship to USA that has these types of great frames please let me know. Im most interested in tulip, umbrella, or "drawing room" shapes!

Did you cut the fabric on the bias, Al. Also it depends on the fabric - natural fabrics are best.

Hi Lori - Thank you so much for your kind comments and I am glad you were able to follow the instructions. I use a heavy weight fire retardant natural cotton fabric which you can get on Ebay in the UK but any good quality cotton fabric would be fine. Good luck and send me a picture of the lampshade you make when it is completed - I would love to see it. x

I have a question about the lining panels. Did you use the same pattern for both the outside as well as the inside lining? My lining was too large, it was bunching up quite a lot so I took in the seams a bit - it's still sort of bunchy, not super smooth and flat like yours, it kind of hast pleats for the access fabric.
@susanscraftcabin10 ай бұрын
If you are balloon lining the shade then you need to cut the internal panels smaller. Otherwise if you are placing the lining over the outer frame use the same size as the outer cover.

Stunning!! Question: when choosing your fabrics are you looking for ones with stretch? I noticed you used a cotton lining on this one my thought is this would have no stretch. Glad I found you. I'm going to give it ago. Thank you so much for freely sharing your talent. 💖🌺
@susanscraftcabin2 жыл бұрын
Always cut the fabric on the bias - I show you how in my first video. Cutting on the bias allows the fabrics to stretch.
@susangantley63942 жыл бұрын
@@susanscraftcabin thanks for getting back to me. Are you meaning that even non stretch fabric cut on the bias will allow the fabric to stretch? I did catch that you said to use stretch fabric for lining is that correct? 😀

You cut the fabric on the bias exactly the size of the panel - no seam allowance as the fabric stretches to fit.
