I have been searching the internet for a few days to find comprehensive and detailed directions on how to make a waterfall valance. I usually avoid video how-to's like the plague because I don't want to hear someone's life story everytime I want to learn something new. I am so joyous I found your tutorial!! It was clearly stated, concise, well shot, edited beautifully, narrated in a manner that was easy to follow and understand as well as short, sweet and to the point! Thank you!!

I want to make different size waterfall valances. What size rod are you using to get this measurement. I have the formula already so I just need to know what size window this is for. Thank you? Great instructions, thank you.
@ceceliasdesignworld8417 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, I did this one for a 3 feet Window, if your window is bigger you can use 2 of them to make a stile.

I love your video thank you so much. I do have one question...if I wanted the drop to be “deeper” how can I calculate that
@ceceliasdesignworld8416 жыл бұрын
Janell Garcia Hi you can get a bigger fabric, say a 80"/80", you can change the 16" to says 24" or even more change the 8" to 16" if using the 24" the 4" marks will always remain the same. The 4" marks are for the rods to go in to. When you Chang this part you will get a deeper fall. To get more fullness you can use the maximum amount of the fabric that's left, remember that any thing you do on one side you have to do on the other side, so start measuring on the open side first because it will be less in lent, do the some to the fold side connect them and finish withe all the other steps. You will end up with a bigger valance.

Very clear instructions.. Thank you...Is this measurement can work for any windows?
@ceceliasdesignworld8415 жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes the measurements con be used, but you can adjust the 28" to make the fall of it longer and also you can change the 8" to make the fall on the inside of it wider and deeper, so you can have a bigger space in between it.

Hi mrn , could I make this pattern smaller or 60×60 is standerd size do one nw, need ans pls
@ceceliasdesignworld8415 жыл бұрын
lily Nelson Hi, good night, you can make yours smaller by cutting down the measurement on both sides, so you can take of 10" or 15", you do the same to both sides, and then follow the steps on the video, you can cut the 8" to 7" if you want to Chang the inside part as well.

hi cecelia Susan from Trinidad do u cut d waterfall valance on d bias n if so how my h material is needed
@ceceliasdesignworld8417 жыл бұрын
Hi, it you follow the video then you will be cutting more or less on the bias, and one of this type of valance pattern take about 60''/60'' Fabric. after making the pattern you can cut it any way you want. You dont have to cut on the bias, it is just easier to make the pattern on the bias, but you can place the pattern any way you want to put it on your fabric when your going to cut. Once you have a pattern to work with it will take less fabric, so a pattern like this will take about 32''' so a yard of fabric should do it.

@ceceliasdesignworld8417 жыл бұрын
Hi, You dont have to cut on the bias, I didn't, I used a 60'' wide fabric. it takes about 42'' of fabric for that swag pattern.

Hi Cecelia I was trying to cut. This waterfall valance but that 16" across on part (4) is confusing me is 8" on the fold fabric and when open you will get the 16" .
@ceceliasdesignworld8416 жыл бұрын
Margaret Allard Hi thanks for your comment, the 16" mark is for you to get the angle on witch you will cut on, yes, you will get 16" when you open it up, and you should cut the 8" on the fold . When you get the 16" from the 8" when you fold it out , that means your doing the right thing. You will get an additional 8" on each side from the 4" they will be used for the rod.

Does it always have to be 60x60? If not, how to I calculate what size I need?
@ceceliasdesignworld8417 жыл бұрын
Hi, You can make it bigger or smaller if you want, just increase your measurement, example, you can use a 60" wide fabric, and then if you want it smaller than this one, then make the measurement going down smaller, or, if bigger add on to the measurement going down. then alter the other measurement, bigger or smaller, to get the shape. You can use a wider fabric than just the 60" to get it wider. when you make the measurement going down bigger or smaller, it will show in the way it drapes. thanks for watching.

@ceceliasdesignworld8417 жыл бұрын
Hi, when making a waterfall valance like this the only thing you adjust is the 8'' and the 28'' if you want to make it bigger or smaller, this one can give you a 18'' drop, you dont really need a formula when doing it like this. Both the 4'' marks will be the same. you will just adjust the other measurements to make it bigger or smaller.
