Testers needed! The template is now available in Muffs Etsy Shop. I have not tested the other sizes. If you would like to test and provide feedback for the template, send me a message @muffsmerino on Instagram or Facebook and I can send it to your email.

Thank you for another great tutorial! I have tried it... with my own template, and it turned out very beautiful... this was the first time that I have made a hat with Corriedale tops .... I did not like the finish in the past... but now I like it. I have one big issue... I cannot get the edge neat... cannot heal the brim as nicely as I want to... what do I do wrong. I could send you a pic but don't know how...

Glad you liked it! I’ve decided I will do an edge video so look out for that. For the edges, I usually trim them smooth close to the end. I add soap and hot water and agitate the edges until they are perfect. The longer you felt or full them, the smoother they will be. It can be very challenging to smooth thin felt edges. Four layers min makes for a nice smooth edge.

Hi I just love your videos I have a question Is it possible to increase the size of hat old hat and fix the bim of the hat by cutting ?
@muffsmerino
@muffsmerino 23 күн бұрын
An old hat size cannot be felted larger, if the wool is already felted, it won’t take new wool additions, it won’t grab or stick once it’s felted. Depending on the type of wool hat, if it’s hand felted and somewhat porous, it may be possible to cut it and felt the edges. Especially if it’s 100% wool,

I have a pair of “boiled wool” clogs that I use as house slippers. They are almost hard in the way they feel. Were they made the same way but with boiling water? Would boiling water stiffen this up too much? I never knew about this process and it’s the first time I’ve seen this. I’ll check out your shop to see what you have. Thanks

@@Traderjoe Yes I use hot or boiling at the end to help shrink “full” them further. It helps open up the fibres and provides more space for shrinkage. Many commercial felted clogs are finished by placing them into a hot washing type machine to shrink them even further. This way they are much stronger, stiffer and long lasting.
