very elegant. I myself work with base metals (copper, brass, nickle silver), and I love the way they look. They look great for my vintage style jewelry. Thank you for posting.

If you're curious about the durability, I would recommend getting some craft wire and doing some experimentation. You will have a much better understanding of the material if you actually handle it.

Most wire that comes in vibrant non metal colors has a color coating on it. That means that the color can come off. You can use nylon jaw pliers to prevent marking up the wire, or you could try putting masking tape on your tools to prevent marking it up. They won't grip quite as well, but it will keep your colors nice.

If you just type the length in inches into an internet search bar followed by "in millimeters" you will get the conversion. For example, if she says in the video that it's 3 inches, you can just search for "3 inches in millimeters" and the equivalent will usually pop right up. Alternately, you could search for a conversion chart.

Artistic wire is great, although we do carry products that are specifically made to avoid that. You can go to Beadaholique . com and search "non tarnish". You'll find a variety of Non Tarnish products to choose from.

Yes, the craft wire is quite soft, but will hold it's shape decently. If you take a pair of nylon jaw pliers and repeatedly tap them closed on the finished components, it will gently harden them somewhat, making them a little stronger. Either way, if you are using a thicker gauge of craft wire, like the 18 gauge I used here, it's going to be decently strong, and will take a bit of a knock to lose it's shape.

Unless you need the ring to be adjustable, it would help it to hold it's shape during normal wear if you did 3 or 4 wraps from each spiral to the bead loop with the 24 g wire.

Aluminum wire is extremely soft. You shouldn't use it for rings or ear wires, because it would just bend out of shape. It would be possible to use it for the other parts of these pieces, but they will be fragile because it bends so easily.
@beadaholique12 жыл бұрын
I use craft wire in this project. Specifically, I used Artistic Wire Craft Wire, which, according to the manufacturer is dead soft. You can find a list of the supplies used in the video description.
@beadaholique11 жыл бұрын
No, memory wire will keep the shape it has (usually round) and won't take the shape you want to bend it into.
