Great video. A few months back I tried doing some of the nail polish on glass marble? Techniques but couldn't quite get the wire setting to look right. I think what you've shown here may be just the technique I need. Thank you so much!

The stone I'm using is a Swarovski Rivoli. It has a pointed back. So it would be just the same.

I wou;d like to know if a tiny jig exists for semiprecious, somewhat smaller stones because nobody can afford gold like we used to. Mybe using a comb??

How do you determine how far away the pegs need to be to create the correct length of prongs? I could see myself making the prongs too long or too short. Then, what length of wire do you use?

The only video we have on prong settings is How to Make a Wire Wrapped Cocktail Ring Stone Settings. Prong settings are a very advanced jewelry making technique.

You would need to use smaller pegs to get smaller loops. But most jigs come with a standard size peg, and just larger options, so you might not get smaller than this.

*immediately sets a cabochon using this technique* Sweet. No glue, just twisted the two ends together and made a bail.

@firemage1987 A chaton comes to a point on the back and the facets on the front are more rounded off. A rivoli comes to a point on both sides. Either item could be used with the technique shown in this video.

What is the difference between a chaton and a rivoli? ^^;
