This was so useful! I watched a few other videos which left me confused and frustrated. This was so organized and really easy for me to follow. Thank you!!!

Danielle - I appreciate the kind words. I went through with a "test run" to figure out Divi basics and come up with an idea for the layout. Then started recording with a printed list of to-do items, so I'm glad you noticed the organization, haha. It's both a strength and weakness since my default is to over-prep/overthink.

great video! Do you need to have a domain name to start setting up a site?
@RayDelVecchio2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, but this may depending on hosting if you can use a "staging" area. I actually have a newer Divi tutorial going through my garden site using another feature called the Theme Builder (so Divi templates apply to multiple pages vs. building them 1-by-1)... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqmThKurmbhgeLs

Another great vid Ray. Just a question - did you find out if Divi resizes the images on thumbnails and such?

Thanks for this video, Ray. When you purchase Divi can you use it on several sites? Or is it a one time license for one site? Okay, second question -- When building a site for a client, should you (the developer) pay for the premium theme, or should the client? The same thing could be asked for hosting and domain name. How possible is it to transfer ownership of these ---hosting, domain name, plugin ownership, premium theme, etc.? This might be a good video topic. Thanks for all your content.

1) Yes, you generate API keys in your Elegant Themes account (one per client), and that allows Divi to continue receiving software updates. You can disable them if a client cancels, which doesn't stop the site from working, just won't get future updates. 2) This is a common question and I should address it in a video. There is no right/wrong way. I've had clients who purchased domain/hosting and I get their account details. From scratch, I'll use my account and manage it all. It makes sense to get a lifetime Divi membership that way you don't need to buy individually, but depends on how you think you'll use in the future. The transfer of ownership is a sticky subject, some web designers like to retain rights. I think it ultimately comes down to the client... do they have any interest in managing or do that want a fully hands-off service. Most of my clients are the latter, and I've been lucky that I haven't had any cancel or demand anything crazy.

Hi nice tutorial but I want to ask one thing that is it possible to make website without using any plugins like elementor on wordpress.
@RayDelVecchio6 жыл бұрын
Yea, you don't need plugins. They just help out when you have to add specific functions.

Just one more thing, I was able to transfer my homepage content from the divi builder to my website, but I can't figure out how to transfer the other pages to the live view.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. You may want to go through my website and send me a link via email. If I have an opportunity I could take a look.
