How to make a wormery - a THYME Project educational film for schools and community groups

This 'how to' film explains the step-by-step process to making a wormery out of wooden pallets. The film follows a community group as they work together to make their own wormery and includes instructions in a voiceover recorded by one of the group.
The film is part of a series of lesson plans and videos for secondary and primary schools, created by the Energy and Environment Institute at the University of Hull as part of the THYME Project. The education resources cover themes around sustainability, low carbon and a circular economy and include ideas around recycling and replacement of fossil-fuel derived products and processes with ones made from renewable bio-based materials.

The THYME Project is a partnership between the universities of Teesside, Hull and York, aiming to grow the regional bioeconomy (an economy based on renewable biological resources, rather than fossil fuels). The project includes education and outreach activities designed to grow awareness of the importance of the bioeconomy to create a sustainable, low carbon future, as well as career opportunities in the sector.
