How to make Alkaline Water

The lemon juice becomes alkaline when it metabolizes in the liver. Lemons are beneficial in two ways, the high acidity strengthens stomach acid but alkalizes the liver!

I just PH tested my tap water, RO water and spring water (from a local source). The RO water was slightly acidic, so I added only 1/4 tsp of baking soda to half a gallon and it immediately turned alkaline! The spring water is slightly alkaline but as a test I boiled it and was very surprised, it is now more alkaline! The tap water was neutral but I'm not worried about that because I won't we drinking it anyways. Just wanted to share.

Good to know. Just be careful and don't overdo the baking soda. You'll know if you do. :) Also remember that alkaline is only half the solution, you also want to get the antioxidant benefits.

1 tsp of baking soda in a glass of natural spring water should be reading at about 7-8 on the PH meter . and the best way to test it is using a digital PH meter . Baking soda & lemon are the best & cheapest way to get & stay alkaline period . Those drops and filter you were using could be anything and baking soda doesnt taste that bad if you use the correct amount . I have been taking baking soda daily for over 3 years and have not had any health issues , no colds or sickness and i feel great

The drops are just for testing, not drinking. The filters are ingredients we put together. We agree baking soda and lemon are good for alkalinity, but you can't drink baking soda water all the time or in large quantities without overdoing it and neither baking soda or lemon have the other antioxdiant and hydration qualities. Congrats on a good 3 years though!

As I understand, Lemon water though acidic in taste considering citric acid, gets converted into highly alkaline substance during digestion. So it doesn't have to be alkaline in the first place. Hence drinking lemon water is good to get body alkaline. However this only applied to lemon water and not true for any other drink you are consuming.

this is correct, so although it seems scary from this view that it is fully acidic while not being broken down by digestion it still converts into alkalinity state after being digested.. citrus fruit in general all promotes benefits specially in digestion tract

This test is flawed. By pouring the tap water with the pH indicator through the filter, you are compromising the test because the filter can act to modify the composition of the indicator and/or dilute the indicator thus giving a false reading. To remedy this, in step 3, pour clear tap water into the Vitev pitcher and then pour the modified tap water into a plastic cup and add the pH indicator and then compare the color. Caveat emptor.

The illustration isn't flawed. A simple carbon filter will not remove enough of the reagent to make a difference, and even if it would, all you would see is a lighter shade of purple from a lower concentration of reagent within the water. The reagent is not contributing to the reaction between the water and our mineral blend, it's simply showing the results of that reaction.

There's a difference between alkaline and alkaLIZED. Or in other words there's a difference between bad alkaline vs. good alkaline, and bad acidic vs. good acidic.

if i did a P H test on my fish tank water and it looked like any of these colours i'I would be very concerned about my P H level in the tank. my fish would be gasping for air or full of fungus's. P H should be medium Green

Yes. It's a carbon based filter, so chlorine, foul tastes and odors are removed.

Alkaline water is one of the things the body can use to help regain balance and better function, but anything further than that and you'd have to speak to a medical professional. Hi Summer. It would be easier to just fill the dispenser and then fill up one of our pitchers from it. It would take a long time for you to use up 5 gallons, and that time would cause the alkaline/antioxidant benefits to decline.
