Hi melly! I suggest you paint your scalp directly on the model then save the image! That way you can use it anywhere :D If you don't know how to paint in blender or maya I've done a vid on both x Blender; kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGiomImOltV4bKs

this tutorial was amazing, good job! but I have a question... how can I do layers of hair under (or on top of) other layers without messing it? everytime I try this I get transparency issues (something wrong with backfaces I guess) thanks for the tutorial it was vey funny btw💞 (ps: I only use blender)

Hi Sagi†! Thank you for your compliment hehe x Ironically I will be doing a blender version eventually, but it's all the same stuff really~ Yes you'd be right about the backfaces. If you have a face that's facing us, and it's pitch black, that means it's going to show 'nothing' Gray / white = visible black = invisible So if you're going to have to do alot of sausaging to make it not have obvious cut offs or things like that BUT that'll come with practice :D x

Hii, I am having alpha sorting issues with alpha hair. I am a maya user and wonder how to combine the mesh or fix the mesh in maya so that the alpha sorting is not an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi XOD! Lovely to see the maya club x Ok can you go into this a little more? because straight off, I'd suggest making all your seperate planes, not connected at first (checking to see if the black side is facing the right way) black is invisible , light gray is visible then when you're content, going to mesh, combine, then double checking that none of the normals have flipped (i think you can also go into display and click normals and it'll show a green line letting you know if your normals are facing the right way up) However if that's not what you mean please give me some more deets! x

Hi There FairyTalesim, It'd be the exact same as all the others, except you'd pick "toddler / child" as you main base as you export from sims 4 studio. I suggest you look at my video for chucking on random hair here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIbIg3ljpKaBmJY and instead of picking an adult like I do, pick the age you want and follow along. x

Hi Veenizh, I'm using Maya here (been using it for 11 years so it's my go to!) however ANY 3D program will do, use the one you're most familiar with as they all do the same thing :D If you need help with the blender portions or haven't used blender much I've just created a mini series of Blender tutorials which goes over what I do here (and for the upcoming sims 4 hair tut)! Hi Seal! Do you mean when you add textures in Blender Or in sims 4 studio? if blender that sounds like you maybe a beginner in the program and I suggest you look at a beginner tutorial on how to use blender! They'll go over it for sure :D (I don't tend to bother getting the texture to show because it's a lil hassle some compared to maya which I tend to do my stuff in before hand! If I'm so inclined to see something in blender I press the tab next to the "edit mesh" button, and select solid from the listing) Eventually I'll redo this in blender due to popular demand so I MAY learn it to show it in there! BUT I can't say for sure xx

@@Sealofee OHO! I can help with that :D In your viewport, press 6, that will make texture visible. If you don't have your texture applied to your model your model will look a darker shade of gray. Be sure to select your model, hold rmb, add new material, lambert> then add your image file to the colour section.

Hi Jus me, All 3D programs are the same (Doesn’t matter which one you use they all do the same thing) You can use blender to do the same x A Patreon of mine has asked me to do a blender version for those that aren’t well versed in blender which is coming up!

I tend to use Maya, however ALL 3D programs do the same thing. Use the one you're more comfortable with! Someone has asked me to do it in blender as well so I'll be getting to that a little later x
