Normally, I'm amazed by your work Steve, but on this one, I'm completely flabbergasted and speechless, not only for the work on the template, but specially because you glued everything without registration marks on the different pieces and everything lined in the end. The rotary tool on the cuts on the foam that were heat treated to create the recessed area is a great idea. I'm imagining how it would look with some LEDs on the eyes... I hadn't even understood from watching both Full Metal Alchemist series that the helmet has hair. I always thought it to be a ribbon.

There are a lot of reasons why I love your videos so much, but mainly because you teach little details that are usually overlooked and it can help and improve the work considerably, like the cutting the sponge when applying the texture on the helmet for instance ^^

You know what helped my materials hoarding? Making friends with other artists who I can gift leftover supplies to. I doubt I’ll ever use the whole 8oz of iridescent medium I needed for one project, but I have painter friends who will gladly use up at least a few ounces of it. I’ve also stopped buying materials unless I have an immediate need for them. Which breaks my heart when I’m out shopping, but has made organizing my office easier. Has it stopped me from hoarding the materials I find for free though? Nope

This was a good video. a cool build would be Ed’s metal arm I think the biggest challenge with that would be getting it to not be way thicker than your other arm, but an attachment for his blade would be cool too

Oh man this is SO COOL!! Love FMA (one of the best anime soundtracks too) and it looks great! If you were going to wear it, would you add a black mesh behind the eye holes or some other kind of "lense" so you could see out but no one would see in? Second question: I see you are using creature cast lately - Are you moving more towards this and away from plastidip or is it just situational? Are there certain situations where one works better than the other? As always thank you for the amazing builds, keep at it! Definitely will be building my own Alphonse helmet in the future!

Thanks! If this was going to be worn yes I would use black cloth behind the eyes but I wouldn't looks out of the eyes I would use the cheeks or build the entire helmet up and look out of the neck area. Creature cast is just another alternative. It was pretty cold here in the Midwest so plasti dip doesn't work well creature cast can just be brushed on and is a non toxic alternative

oh and for a pattern idea, a Darkness from Konosuba pattern would be cool, because it's hard to modify a breastplate pattern to have really large booba when you dont have them yourself for the cling-wrap method!

Yes you do, just follow the directions on my site open the pdf in adobe acrobat or adobe reader and click the printer icon then under page sizing & handling click “poster” that scales it properly over several sheets
