I would very much appreciate a tutorial on how to build the missile you have in this video. It has a very nice design.

I just built it. You can see all the sides in the video. The core is made of conveyor tubes.

I love the design on the missiles and base, but its also much more secure to add a stage that launches the missiles up a long silo, someone could snipe the arm to disable the launcher

For printing missiles, all you need is 1 welder facing upwards. With 2 rotors on both sides also facing upwards. Giving you 2 missiles on a cheap & simple setup.

That is a good suggestion. 👍

Bit late to this one but I’ve used a few bits of this design to make a missile turret so I can shoot at ships outside of ai detection range. It’s got variable delay on the ai turning on aswell :)

Very nice concept. Mine was similar, but instead of using a piston, I placed the merge block and connector right on the rear, and the missile leaves a silo out a door which opens/closes. Just another one of many ways to do this.

Any advices, to make missiles more accurate? Prediction mode, Precision mode are they better, or not?

Nice setup. Im still trying to figure out a better way to do a launch sequence withou thruster override or finiky prerecorded flight paths slaved to a reference beacon.

How does the toggling something on and off in the same action work though? Logically should it not simply toggle your hydrogen tank to stockpile then immediately turn it off before it has a chance to actually stockpile? I get that's not how the game obviously interprets this and it works as your tutorial shows - but why does it do it and how does the game actually activate these actions? How would you therefore also make it do two simultaneous actions - or rather how does it know when it would need to do two simultaneous actions vs wait for one to complete?

I *think* it's because the actions are an OR conditional - the first action procs when condition == true, the second when condition == false, rather than "do the first action then the second action immediately after". I know when I'm setting up actions, I get a tooltip box to the left of the actions that tells me the condition to trigger both. So as long as the triggering condition is true, action 1 will continue, it's only if the state that triggered the actions to begin with changes than the second action will proc.

I like it, it looks cool. But there is a even rapid'er way 😎

I did see multiple ways of doing it. This is merely one of many. But do share :)

@@AliceDoesThings404 yea there are many ways to make a missile printer. But it is very nice, i like when stuff are factories in them self. But the way i do it is, i have three welders ind a line, one convoyer in the end with a hybrid hinge that has an merge block. This is build in the wing so if i just fly upwards the missile will clear from the ship and maybe 2 or 3 seconds later the next is ready to be fired. I might do a video on it to better show my concept.

Can you tell me how to reduce lag from the printers? I have like 4-5 of them and when they all go on it lags like crazy. Thank you
@AliceDoesThings404 Жыл бұрын
The best way would be to either reduce their complexity, or the amount of them that you have. A lot of moving parts+projectors can cause a lot of lag and framedrops, especially on lower end systems.
