My goodness you are a master of tutorials. Every other video I have watched makes the assumption that the viewer should know circuitry. Instead you teach with a high level of detail to ensure that everyone understands every element of your project. If you are not a teacher by profession you might want to consider it my friend. You are just excellent! Please teach us the next step. I would like to trigger the door to open and close with a button or switch. What power supply can I use? Would a cell phone charger power supply work for continuous use? If so how? I would like to make an automatic feeder for my amphibians for when I go on vacations.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. please watch these videos, you will find some project related to this door, also with a button switch, Automatic sliding door based on timer without Arduino (With push button): kzbin.info/www/bejne/gajXfmmPj7yXgrM How to make a motion sensor door, video link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2rEoKeBnrFmrJo Voice controlled door, video link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKGzeY2Jg8dobsU

@@EEWave Your information is invaluable. From what I gathered in your video, a 100k resistor increases the timer to 11 seconds. What resistor can I use for either 30 minute and or 60 minute timer? What are the Specifications? For example. I found this on mouser electronics: Resistance: 56k Ohms Wattage Rating: 0.25 Watt Tolerance: 1% Metal Film What do you suggest for 30 and 60 minutes? Resistance, wattage rating, tolerance, type, etc. Sorry for all the questions. I'm new to this :)

Hello friend, only a resistor value doesn't decide the timing. We also have to see the capacitor value. To set the time, T = 1.1 x R x C T in seconds R in ohms C in farad To understand the timer circuit, please watch these two videos. Here, I was talking about an equation and explained everything related to this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5XXZn1mhsaImLc (Theory part) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4i9h6hqgampbs0 (Practical part)

@@EEWave I really appreciate your videos and response. Unfortunately I could only understand some of it. A bit of it goes over my head. With that said, could you tell me how you would create a timer for 30 minutes and 60 minutes? What values would you use for each? Is M (mega) immediately the next step above K (kilos)? Basically what I'm asking is what would you change from your original circuit to make the timer reach 30 minutes or 60 minutes? What would be the resistor and capacitor value needed for both 30 minutes and 60 minutes respectively?

For 30 mins R = 1.6 M (the correct resistance should be 1636363 Ohms, you can get this value by adjusting the potentiometer) C = 1000 uF For 60 mins R = 3.3 M (exact value is 3272727 ohms) C = 1000 uF
