Man it’s been a while since I watched this video or needed to watch it. Again, thank you! The voice is gentle too.

This is awesome! I am upgrading a hermit crab tank, making it bioactive with plants. This seems like a great way to help these plants escape destruction. I will definitely be contacting Josh's soon to get my plants ordered!

How would you water it? Mist it?

I love it but aren't you worried about the fishing line cutting through any of the roots or the plant at all?

Can I add this to a Crested Gecko set up or would they tangled in the fishing line?

Hi I’m in Australia just wondering if that’s called cork bark and where I can get it from
@joshsfrogsvideos55946 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's cork bark. You can order some from our website, or any number of other places.
@mrsshah77623 жыл бұрын
It would be difficult & expensive to import wood products to Australia from other countries. Our customs department would expect a fumigation certificate to be included to ensure there are no bugs living in the wood

Soon, you can get it from us! We're expecting a big shipment any day now :) www.joshsfrogs.com/accents-decor/driftwood-bamboo.html

can the side pups grow if you divide them?
@JoshsFrogs7 жыл бұрын
They sure can! Wait until the pups are about 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the mother plant before dividing them.

Can I use a piece of craft cork?
@joshsfrogsvideos55946 жыл бұрын
Hey Imelda, I would not suggest doing that. Craft cork has a high potential of being contaminated with chemicals during it's time in the craft stores and traveling with craft supplies. I would suggest only using items that are meant to be used with animals. Thank you Thomas Curator of Dart frogs

@JunFeril4 жыл бұрын
instead of fishing line would natural twine be enough to mount a bromeliad?
@nanetteorchid66802 жыл бұрын
natural twine has a short life span when repeatedly getting wet. It tends to rot after a while.

does the plant require fertilizing? where is it getting its nutrients from? Thank you for the video.
@JoshsFrogs7 жыл бұрын
Over time, some plants may require fertilizing.
@luciacee51516 жыл бұрын
how?
@Ali-mj2gm5 жыл бұрын
Lucia Cee late reply but if you’re not growing it in a frog/reptile vivarium then a diluted orchid fertilizer should do it once a month in spring and summer (less in fall and winter with less light). If you’re growing it in a frog or reptile vivarium then their poop or any dead insects will collect in the cups and fertilize the plant. Constant lighting and humidity and temperature conditions in a tank will ensure nice year round growth.

What can I do to prepare bark I find in the outdoors to make sure I don't introduce pests into my home? Thanks!
@joshsfrogsvideos55946 жыл бұрын
Soooo, first organic matter can almost never be 100% free of parasites, bacteria, viruses, fungus and other such things. You can bake it, you can dry it, you can wash it... but there is always a potential for harmful chemicals or organisms to continue to reside in the piece you are looking to use. We do not recommend using items from outside. But if you do decide to do so, i would first clean it with repti-san and a long bristle brush, then let it dry out for a week or more, then bake it at a low temperature such as 185, for 3-4 hours. Keep in mind, baking materials like these can be very smelly and dangerous if the material touches the heating elements. This process can also degrade materials making them weaker.

Gasp! I love it!
@coldpizza52717 жыл бұрын
how do you water it once mounted?? :/
@JoshsFrogs7 жыл бұрын
You can flush it's cup weekly, and moisten the sphagnum moss occasionally. Some people even prefer to soak the entire mount in water once a week for 5 minutes.
@MrFishzilla8 жыл бұрын
I would be very afraid to put that into my frog's tank. It seems the frogs legs, arms or toes could easily get snared in all that fishing line.
@laggot8 жыл бұрын
i feel like they'd just climb on it idk hahaha
@Dairko8 жыл бұрын
If its tight it shouldn't be much of a problem, they'd most likely climb over it. If it were loose, then yea, easy snags.
@MrFishzilla8 жыл бұрын
Fishing line will stretch some as any fisherman knows. I think I will stick to the U shaped covered floral wire on cork bark. Maybe I am paranoid but better safe than sorry. Love your vids though.
