I was defeated around 9 minutes when I realized I must have done someting wrong much earlier. Thats what I get for trying to do this for the first time with all black paper. I'll try again another day.

I think I worked out my problem!!! Mine looked curved when I tried to open it up but I think its supposed to as they don't open it up the fold as they open if you rewatch it and zoom in at 8 minutes forty something then you might be able to see it

it's like folding the bottom layer inward, sounds a bit confusing, so better to slow down the playback speed to 0.25, and watch in a slow mo👍
