Your videos have really helped further my understanding, and career, in real estate photography. I've combined my knowledge, that I've gained from you, into combining my bracketed shots AND my raw photos from my drone to create some of the best photos. My portfolio is looking better now than it has ever before, thank you so much Rico!

@@RicoResolves Your video has switched me on to bracketing ISO again. Another guy's video also switched me on to the joy of just using your bracketing for a fun mix of film simulations. So I'll switch between the two. And mix them in with my Fuji quick menu stuff etc. All good.

Great tutorial. I would have liked it more if it included a before&after comparison.

Hi Alexei, what do you mean? There is a new video on HDR in my playlist displaying a different scene :)!
@AlexeyMatushevsky3 жыл бұрын
@@RicoResolves heeey, I mean the video with few different photos. For example - evening scene, daylight forest scene and some cloudy scene as you have on video. It whold be so interesting to hear your thinking process on how you process the pictures. Maybe I am asking to much. Any way - your videos are very interesting and helpful. Yes I saw your other HDR video, after I wrote 1st comment. Thank you so much for your tutorial! ❤️

Hello there!!! So I have this image of people in front of a sunset with mountains in the back, in Rio. I messed up by exposing the people right but the background is completely overexposed. Can I make copies of the same image umderexposing the sky and then make an HDR ? What would you recommend in a case like this?
@RicoResolves4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lilian! Welcome back! Once an image is overexposed (and especially the highlights), there is no way in bringing back the details. Not even by a "fake" HDR. What about changing the sky? Is that a possibility?
@lilianfabiano30794 жыл бұрын
@@RicoResolves ohhh noooo.... It’s a classic background here in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), where the mountains are the signature... (look for Morro DOIS irmãos e Pedra da Gávea as seen from Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas - Rio de Janeiro, if you want to have an idea of what I’m talking about... I’m pretty sure you’ll love it). But if I was to do it, do you have a video on that?
@lilianfabiano30794 жыл бұрын
@@RicoResolves what about the colors? Once I tone it down, it gets VERY magenta and a bit of... green. I can’t find myself around to at least tone the weird green down... PLEASE HEEEELP! 😱😱😱
@RicoResolves4 жыл бұрын
@@lilianfabiano3079 why don't you email me the photo? I'll have a look then and I'll email you. Usually if you have a cast of color, you can use the RGB curves module. Look at the histogram so you can the reds, greens and blues. Make sure they are all equally balanced and that renders the perfect white balance.

Thanks for the tutorial. I have 3 (bracketed) images which I shot without using a tripod (so seems there is a bit of camera shake between the 3 images). When I create HDR, the resultant image comes out blurry. Is their a fix I can use?
@RicoResolves3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not within darktable. It doesn't have the auto align option. You'll have to reshoot or use a different program.

have they changed every name of the mouduals in 3.6?

Some modules have become obsolete or removed. Not every module has been changed though

Why arent my raw canon .cr2 canon files working , they show up , darktable says it only works with raw files. How do i get them - the canon raw files to work for hdr.
@RicoResolves4 жыл бұрын
Convert them to dng files :)

sony camera works , no problem . canon - files first convert to dng first then use . ok

Some of the modules seem to not be in the Linux version. And how do I export the image?

Go back to light table view, export is in the bottom of the right-hand modules list.
