Do I include my media kit when I am pitching to brands? Is it normal to ask for a PAID collab when I am the one asking to collaborate?

I usually send them a pitch first and then offer to share my media kit if they're interested in learning more because sometimes emails with attachments can get filtered into spam if you've never talked to that person before. And yes, you can pitch paid partnerships as long as you clearly demonstrate your value through the storytelling in your media kit and pitch email

What's the difference between a media kit and a portfolio?

I like to think of a media kit as a place to share more info and metrics and a portfolio as a place to share examples of your previous work. It's not to say a media kit can't contain examples and a portfolio can't contain metrics, but that's generally the way I view both.
