Thank you for your videos I graduated from design school in 2002 and somehow I have come full circle I have not really used these skills like this in a long time. Im a real estate agent so I used the “ decorator” term a lot but I’m a designer my husband is a carpenter we have done several projects together over the last few years. However now I’ve gotten the chance to stretch my wings and mix some of the things I love to do into design. I’m currently designing a wellness room and I found you because I needed to send design boards. You inspired me to invest in this undertake fully I got a new iPad created a moon board is my slides app and send a presentation for the design with several variations. I did my floor plans on canvas it was so hard. That was before I bought the iPad and procreate. I am now going over the project and redrawing this project. I feel like God is given me another chance to be the designer I always wanted to be! I have to say by far you are one of my best teachers Aseelo and I’m so happy I found you and so proud of your dedication to teaching and sharing your knowledge. Peace and blessings to you

When working on a large commercial space, for example, a spa, should a mood board be made for each space on separate pages, a few select key spaces, or should it be a series of inspiration images?

Hey! Thanks for passing by I think dividing big spaces is an excellent approach because it gives you an easier creative direction for each area, even if I am designing 2 rooms in the same house I like to brain storm in 2 different mood boards, they can be the same soul but it’s easier this way for future me to design ♥️ hope this helped!

If I am working as a designer for a firm, including the drawings & site pictures of those projects in my portfolio won't be an issue?? 2. Most of the firms ask for soft copy of the portfolio on email, I feel quite hesitant. What to do??

You have to ask the firm if it’s okay to include your work in, but mostly, it is okay to add what you specifically worked on! 2. Don’t be hesitant, send it, the internet is saturated with good work and I know how scary it is to have your work copied, but it’s ought to happen when you are good! :) best of luck to you!

Thank you so much for your kind words, I appreciate having you on board ♥️ My advice is to understand that it’s gonna be a bit tough to grasp everything in the beginning, but don’t let that get to your head, because it’s eventually gonna get a lot easier, and it’s just a learning curve, enjoy the process before the end result, because what we do is the best career in the world. ♥️ Keep improving yourself, learn softwares as you go, and never stop learning. @@catarinaferro4067 Hi catarina, sorry for interruption. You should learn both but if you have some time issue then I prefer you to start Sketch Up. Its a fabulous software for interior designers. Honestly I would personally say start with AutoCAD, AutoCAD is essential for interior design projects, because of the accuracy of dimensions, also because when you start designing usually it's easier to experiment with different layout using AutoCAD. Sketch Up is also very easy and important when you are communicating with clients, because you can visualize and show them, (most people find it very difficult to visualize the space in 2D, so they prefer 3D, by the end of the day it's totally up to you, and best of luck! :)

Trayanna W Hey Tryanna! For big projects (floor plans) : I use AutoCAD, for precision in dimensions For smaller projects (floor plans): I use SketchUp, because it shows the results faster and easier. I use sketchup for 3D, and I render on Lumion/Vray depending on the situation.
