tried it out of normal air dry clay, didn't really work by the time i got to the handles it dried out on me...and couldn't attach anything... do you use supersculpy firm clay (looks like it)? or just regular fimo ? also how much clay (like 500 g ?) do you use for one chair ?
@GipsBudowlany10 жыл бұрын
Make it from normal clay is not good idea. It's not fimo but it can be. I bought 1kg of cheap oven baked polimer modeling clay from internet shop and I paid something about 10$. I bought gray one but it can be any color because it'll be painted anyway. You can also buy sometnig like this in local diy/art shop www.partybits2go.co.uk/js/plugins/imagemanager/files/music_art/Modelling_Clay.jpg :D It must be oven-baked- that's the point. And I use over 300g for 1 throne (1/3 of 1kg). Ty for your comment. I'll add annotation about this clay in my video :)

I am sure you've probably answered this before but: Are you recommending polymer clay over air dry for a specific reason or is it just personal preference? Thanks

Great tutorial ! I've tried it with Fimo but I had issue with the first coat of black spray paint, it remained all sticky, even after several weeks (I used Marabu Do-it Colorspray, and I guess it doesn't mix well with Fimo). Do you think it's possible to get the same effect using just acrylic paint and a brush for the first black coat ?
@GipsBudowlany9 жыл бұрын
Sure. Sometimes I use normal acrylic paint as primer for my figures. And it works well. When you will finish your throne, show it here, please :D

Braavos! You do very beautiful work! I do have one question though: After you attach the eleven main swords to the chair’s back and bake it for a second time, is there a third bake after you finish covering the rest of the chair? if so, how long should I bake it for?

I use silver spray paint because it has nice metallic effect and liquid consistente. Regular paints are more thick but of course add water to them solves the problem. So I think that it isn't bad idea. When you make your Throne share it there :D I must see it
