For the upper part, You can measure it( just place your tape from armpit to the other armpit) and whatever you get, subtract between 1and half to 2inches. For the lower part measure the round sleeve then subtract same. Hope this helps??

Thanks very much for this tutorial so simple and understanding illustration But please how did you know the exact measures of elastic to be fixed on the upper and the down part of the hand

You can fix the elastic band and gather to the sleeve width for the upper and lower part. Or You should know the actual width for the upper part of the sleeve, then subtract One and half inches. For the lower part, take the round sleeve measurement, and subtract one and half inches also. You can watch my video on how to draft off shoulder I explained how to achieve the sleeve width.

@@rebeccaochai8123 ok. You can only use it to cut the armhole so that it rhymes with the armhole on the outfit you are making. But you need to know the width of the sleeve (the upper part that seats on the shoulder if you aren't using elastic like I did)

It varies from sizes. You can take the measurements from the front arm to the back arm, the subtract about one and half inches. The thing is, there's no one method to sewing. If you try it and the elastic is big, then just reduce it till you get what you want.

Place your tape rule at the edge of your shoulder, measure around your armhole/armpit. What ever you get add one inch for ease. That's your armhole circumference.
