This turned out REALLY nice, especially with how finnicky that EVA foam can get. Was curious why you were getting negative comments, then realized your last upload really blew up! Congratulations on knocking it out of the park! I have an old-ish hardcover book of Nausicaa. That Ghibli style is fantastic, and you translated that into a FANTASTIC 3D representation. I think the dropper technique (and montage) was my favorite bit! :) Brookes is 100% right about when videos get more views than you have subscribers. (Did I even say that right?) When I start seeing comments indicating KZbin is putting my video in more folks' "Recommended" section, I just knowwwww some negative remarks are coming with that. "THERE'S 15 MINUTES I CAN NEVER GET BACK!"... "IT'S 'LEGO', NOT 'LEGOS'!"... "WHY WOULD I WANT TO MAKE A RUBBER BOLT?"... "DO YOU HAVE ECZEMA?", etc.

I actually went for the toxic forest video for its own merits! It sounded like something out there and alien and the results were so good that I actually wound up making a planet for my 40k army inspired by it (and by rewatching Nausicaa). The actual Ohmu was just a nice touch on top, but hardly why I went to the video. Give me the alien landscapes, dawg!

For eyes that 'pop' I have had some joy with using glow in the dark nail polish as both paint and glue on the back of the lenses, just need a UV torch to see it. Particularly proud of a Zombie spider with green glowing eyes.

This is super far from the content I usually enjoy but I was very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed myself immensely! Your very genuine in your voice-overs and it makes the viewer feel as though your a person telling them about their latest project as you enjoy it rather than a youtuber trying to make money off sharing your craft! Its very peaceful and calming, which is quite odd when your making a scary giant bug thing. (I know the point of the film is to be kind to nature and not judge appearances but if a huge bug thing with glowing red eyes started coming towards me I would be scared. I wouldn't kill it but I would run away and cry)

You've inspired me Bill. I bought some stuff and started my very first scratch build today. It's very much a doodle build since I don't have much junk and I mostly try out different techniques rather than building something cool. It's a watch tower with turrets and a balcony and some other stuff. Once it's painted I'll send you a picture on Instagram perhaps if you're interested. Sorry if thies is a repeat, I did a quick look. In the US, they call it 3D or "Puffy" paint. Usually you can find it in dollar tree or art supply store near where they have items for making custom t-shirts. Thank you for you channel and especially this video. I've loved Nausicaa since I saw the old "Warriors of the Wind" dubbed version as a kid and always wanted an Ohmu. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Somebody must already have told you this but if you like Nausicaa, you should give the manga a try. It was drawn and written by Miyazaki too, and the film is derived from it but a lot is lost in the translation, like your dad. The manga is one of the most beautifull tale i've read.
