How to make an Origami Twinboat Icosahedron

Wow, this one really is a challenge! It took me half a day to assemble (I cheated with some glue to keep it together) but it certainly is doable. To those having trouble with it folding in instead of out: I actually had to force the sides down to form a ball and just kept assembling from there. The vertex of a 3 ring will be the start of a 5 module, if that helps at all (it has 2 sides already). The third piece should connect to the next 3 ring on its left...sorry, this is hard to describe!

It took me EIGHT hours. I have recently developed an obsession with modular origami. This was incredibly difficult because I am really just a beginner by many standards. Once you understand the nature of this piece, everything falls into place. Mine is a little sloppy in places but looks damn good for my first try.

I've got it! It takes 3hours, but it was my first time. my icosahedron is in pink, blue and yellow. my first, my first, i love it! :D

I DID IT !!! It took 3 hours, but the thing is really cool colorful thing! I have a confessoin: I used scotch from the inside in some parts.

thank you so much for showing in detail how to put it together. It's extremely difficult! I've been struggling with the first 5 modules surrounded by the 5 other modules for more than 1 hour but I just don't get them in place and the whole kusudama is like "inside out"...

If you're using oneside-coloured papers, start with the coloured side UP.

Its not that hard. Once you construct the five unit ring, it is flat. But the folds in the middle of the units make the ends curved. Just connect everything around that.
