My parents divorced when I was 2, and my dad moved out to live alone in a small apartment. He had a room for me but it didn’t have a door, and the only thing I remember about that room is a makeshift curtain to replace the door, made of dozens of small omega stars attached to fishing threads. When I was old enough he taught me how to fold one myself and insisted on maximum precision in every fold and crease. It’s a tasking model which takes time and patience, I can’t imagine how hard it was for my dad to make all of these. Since then the omega star has been my symbol of appreciation, and I make and give them to people I respect and feel close to, basically saying my time with them is never wasted.

Time frame 02:50 is the best. I was like "ok, just one paper" and then Bam! another 5 pcs already folded... LOL Now I know what "6 modules" from the title means.. Nice star! My daughter loves it!

Wonder full thank you! Naturally i had to pause until i made all six pieces...really excellent...I like the fact that the finished piece is very solid, not flimsy

I really love this model so beautiful ... and so tricky to assemble! I will need to practice more, my first attempt was unsuccessful. I think my paper might have been too thick for this modular origami star. Thank you again so much for this instructive video!

@TimZZR2 It really wasn't that hard. I've never done any kind of origami until like 3 days ago, and this was one of the first things I've learned how to make so far. All you do is make 6 of the same thing, then piece them all together. Anyway, awesome tutorial. It was really fun to make and a surprisingly small amount of modulations.

So easy!!! Just what I needed. Want to do a module for my niece! Thank you so much! Other origami starts were very nice, but too complex (especially when it comes to multiple details for a module). I also like yours the most because it combines several colors for one piece.

How come when the teacher is making origami, they always manage to go faster than you? I mean, even if there are repeating steps and things and you've done it gazillions of times, you always have to pause the video to catch up. P.S. This was really fun. I'm glad that this is possible.

The Omega star (6 modules) is a creation of Ed Sullivan and Philip Shen. The diagram has been published first in "The flapping bird" by Samuel Randlett in... 1969. The model is based on XYZ by Ed Sullivan.
