Perfect timing! I have a Thanksgiving t-shirt that I love, but she's a little snug these days, lol. I'll have to get it out and see what I can do with it.

Because I discovered how I DO need to make the sleeves and bust areas of my shirt bigger, after all, hopefully I can take out the sewing/basting I did on one of the blouses I'm working on. I had put only a triangle in the side, and, when I tried it on, I found out the bust area was still too small. I did the basting after seeing your advice. And, am so glad I did that. Hopefully I will still have enough fabric to "repair" the blouse cause I had cut the fabric into the triangle shape, thinking it would be enough added to the sides. Guess I may have to piece some of the fabric together to make a large enough "insert" if I don't have single pieces large enough. I try to remember something you told us on a previous message whenever I'm gonna sew a garment to wear. I forget your exact words, but, the gist of what you told us is how we all have our own tastes, and, we should wear - or make - what ever style clothes we like in the colors we prefer. TYSM for inspiring us to do our own thing.. Love your channel bunches. 🥰👍😻❣️

I really like how you explain everything. Easy to follow. I do not see the video of how to make the shirt bigger but tapered on sides. Could you send that?

TYSM! This was exactly what I needed, as Daughter needs a few alterations to shirts made. Your tutorial was exceptionally clear, right down to the correct stitch settings on the machine. (Now to get sewing.)

So cute! I have a peterman collared leopard print shirt made with poly and a zipper up the back. I’d like to try to make it bigger. Do you suggest I buy a poly fabric to extend or can I use a black tshirt? Would a different type and weight of fabric look bad? Thx

I think a different type of fabric is totally fine.

I've seen so many videos about enlarging a shirt. Yours is the first I've seen to explain how you don't have to çut all the way into the sleeves. I have a blouse I'm wanting to upsize which has - I think - butterfly sleeves. And, I didn't want to 'disturb" them while trying to make it bigger across the front. So your video is very helpful in that area. I have a question, though. IF I add fabric to the front and back of a blouse for a different look when I enlarge it, should I add the same width to the front and back to balance the fit. Or do you think the back addition should be narrower or larger than the front piece ? I appreciate your advice and I love your channel. TYSM for sharing your techniques and knowledge with us. 😍

Hi, Thank you for watching. Generally the body is smaller in the back then the front so to keep it balanced you want to add less to the back and more to the front. Unless you are just adding a small amount then it probably wont make a big difference. You can always seam rip it out if its too big! Maybe baste it in first. Hope that helps.

@@SewAnastasia That helps a lot. Thank you so much for responding and giving your advice. I'm working on a different garment right now. And, hopefully will have it done before too long so I can work on the "butterfly sleeve" garment. Will try to remember to letcha know how they both turn out. I do appreciate your help. 😉😻

I did that with some of my t-shirts because they were too tight. I use to have the opposite problem where t-shirts were too big.
