@diannadavis136211 ай бұрын
making vinegar requires 2 fermentations , the first or primary fermentation converts the sugars to alcohol , the secondary fermentation occurs when the acetobacter converts the alcohol to acedic acid. hi! thanks for a great video. re. mold issues during a fermentation process: as a preventive measure, i evenly sprinkle some turmeric powder over the part of the cloth that covers the mouth of the jar. that's it! if you want a more even spread, you can lightly rub the turmeric over the cloth with a dry finger BEFORE (to prevent it from falling into the bottle contents) placing the cloth over the mouth of the bottle. works just as fine with fungus appearing on a sapling or soil in a flower pot.

I think so, however, I have never used green apples before.

If you are not planning on using the cultured apples, could you replace apple chunks for apple peels and cores? I have a lot of scraps left over currently since I use many apples and pears during fall. I'd love to find a use for them if possible!

very late answer, but YES! I make my apple cider vinegar using only the scraps (peels AND cores) I also use the cooked water when I make apple sauce, instead of filter water... and the results are amazing!! And best of all, nothing goes to waste :)

I did my vinegar and it came out very well. I wanted to find out if one can use the same instructions to make vinegar using pineapple. I will appreciate your advice. Once more thank you very much for sharing this instructional video.
