I tried this in PowerDirector 365. Painfully went frame by frame to mask out the pole (tree in your case). It looks great when I save and play it back. But after "producing" it there is about a frame's worth of the first scene visible to the left of the pole. I went back into the mask editor frame by frame and it looks fine again (no adjustments necessary). Play it back, fine. Produce it and again a frame's worth of the first scene lagging to the left of the pole. So, it appears there is a quirk that has developed between PD 18 and now.

I could think of a situation where I'd use this effect, I walk off camera to the right, camera pans to left, the frame of a door in the background is where the new scene begins to appear, as it does, I walk onto the camera from the left. The only thing now is, can I do this on PD14 Ultra?

I have been watching your tutorials and re-watched some of the videos to give me some ideas of how I can create a short introduction video of pulling some thing out of a box horizontally. Or lit a box end on fire and slowly burning/moving from left to right to reveal what's in the box. I just can't think of a way to do it. I am using PowerDirector 17.
@PDU_Tutorials4 жыл бұрын
Lisa-Paul Lee Make image layers of the box using a photo editor. Then you can place one layer on an upper track, one on a lower track and the hall on a track in between. Then you can make it come out of the box.

PLEASE HELP! OK, so this is all good BUT there is a related issue I am having which is killing me... I am in the middle of a project synced to separate music audio track and I want to add a overlapped transition (obviously wanting the two moving image clips blend with each other) now in the middle of it. How do I make PD NOT drag the entire timeline left when I add this overlapped transition in the middle of the project (it will make everything after out of sync with audio)? If I use 'cross' instead of 'overlap' then the clips stop/start playing halfway through the transition. The clips have not been trimmed or purged down to exact time so there is more clip available for the transition to use POST/PRE but HOW DO I DO THIS?? Thanks for any help in in advance y'all.
@PDU_Tutorials3 жыл бұрын
If you use overlap it will always move the second clip over the first clip which moves the timeline. There is no way around it that I am aware of.

Hey Maliek, do you have any advice for using the new Shutterstock subscription for making custom end screens? I think it would be very cool to be able to pick one of the Shutterstock videos and add elements for Like/Comment/Subscribe/Watch Another Video rather than one of the kind of lame pay end screen templates (I don't like any of them). I'm sure your PowerDirector genius can come up with something AWESOME... PS, long time subscriber... PPS, can't watch any other PowerDirector tutorials, you've ruined them all for me :-)

Ok I’ve got a tough question. For you guys it’s probably easy or just plain impossible. I record dance recital videos for my daughters studio. There are 3 shows with about 54 numbers in each show. I use 2 cameras. One locked down, full stage and one for closeups. I get 4 audio feeds. 2 from the board, one shotgun ambient crowd and one stage mic for taps. I have always done jump cuts to keep the audio and video form overlapping or having a dead spot. My question is, since I have over 150 numbers to edit and produce. Is there any easy (one or two click) way to do a smooth fade from camera to camera without screwing up the audio? Thanks.
@PDU_Tutorials2 жыл бұрын
When you apply transitions use cross instead of overlap. You can change the settings in preferences. You can also select a transition, select apply to all videos, and select cross
@rohlen62152 жыл бұрын
@@PDU_Tutorials I’ve watched your tutorial on that and have tried it many times. I must be doing something wrong. I would like a smooth fade from one view to a close up during a song, without a break of silence. The only thing I can think of is to have the two video timelines, overlap them by 2 seconds and leave the audio alone. I’m not doing that 150+ times. I’ve set the transitions to cross but it doesn’t seem to do what I’m looking for. Maybe I’m not exposing it properly
