If wants to do a good mono system, short the L and R signals to make then a unique signal and the amplifier will have only signal and earth, instead having a stereo signal on input that won't be used, that are sounds that is reproduced on R that isn't reproduced on L, this way, to have a mono system should short this cables linking the L cable to R cable on P2 cable.

the USB cable was for supplying power to the amp so if you don't want to use the USB cable you can use a 5v charger e.g a phone charger
