3 videos later and you convinced me I can produce music, something I just thing of the other day. May sound naive, but that's how professional and intuitive you have been on your clips (except the music theory one but I'm just clueless)

I thought you seemed rather pretentious at first, but then I realized that you are a very skilled teacher and music producer. I’ve never learned through a “chill” teacher in my 16 years in culinary. So I appreciate your directness and focus, and you talking to me like I am ignorant… because I was, but now I can transition from garage band and BandLab on iphone to Ableton live seamlessly. I took many notes and working on my new ep. Thank you for being cocky and good. Also for free. Jesus.

Awesome stuff man! I am a Video Producer and Animator (25 years) and I also play a bunch of instruments. I've used ableton (since it came out) and I've learned more by watching this tutorial than I have in the entire time I've used the software. I've only ever used it as an acoustic/organic composer, or whatever you want to call it, and never knew about all of the shortcuts and just the basics of this style of composing. I have more and more clients wanting me to compose music for their commercials and the like and it had grown tiresome to record me playing live and then tweaking everything after the fact. This really helped. Thank you!

Hi you mention to use drive or saturation to bring out more harmonics in the bass, so it helps it to be heard on smaller speakers.....does that also work on the kick...as I'm having a lot of trouble to get my kick to come through on my phone speaker...sometimes it just doesn't sound like it's there at all, while other times its just a clicky sound....🤯

@Ethan Davis I don't understand how you make the B Bass go along with the kick. Your first kick starts at 1.1, your second at 2.2. Yet both bars for the B Bass start at x.1. If I do that then my second bass plays before the second kick. The only way I get it to work is by shifting the second bass to also start at 2.2 (which is something you clearly do not do)... So what am I missing here? Thanks in advance.

I’m coming over from GarageBand so it is difficult learning these new things. I am thankful for the free knowledge. But, I feel like you went fast over different things and also your cam got in the way for different steps. Maybe the video idea is to create your own beat, while following along, but I am trying to replicate what you’re doing to learn. It’s very frustrating when I’ve got to constantly rewind 3 or 4 times on every step because I miss little clicks that make a big change. Again, thanks for the knowledge, but please next time go slower and get that face cam out the way
