I miss the camera views from above where hands are working. Seeing the back of the iron, for example, isn’t helpful.

Thanks Misty. This is the best apron tutorial on KZbin as I didn’t know how to shape & hem the curves. Putting the slits in armholes was very helpful.

If you don't have a hot press ruler, sew around the arm hole at a scant 1/2" using a basting stitch. This marks your first fold mark. You can sew again at a scant 1" if you want or just fold on the previous fold. If you don't want to fold canvas at all, don't add the additional 2" to the top; Add 1/2" and use bias tape to wrap the edge or stitch the bias tape to the front and fold it to the back along the seam line. Whatever works.

Adorable pattern, May have to get it to make aprons for my 4 granddaughters & their mommies. One suggestion - I would do a narrow double line of stitching when attaching the pocket, just to strengthen it. Maybe I’m extra hard on my pockets but I find that stitching always seems to be the first place to give out. I would also do a small box pattern of stitching when attaching the D ring. Those tend to turn on me which shouldn’t be the end of the world but it triggers my latent OCD & bugs the daylights out of me! 😜

So adorable. What about bias binding instead of hem? Or, sew on a backing.

Very practical and great project for people with little chefs in training. I went to the “supply” link and there doesn’t seem to be the inclusion of the piece used for the armholes … Without that piece, this might be a bit of a challenge unless one has a French curve and knows how to use it.

Good morning. What type of fabric did you say you used? I'm a phatt person with autoimmune disorders with inflammation. Recommendation for measuring in order to adjust for the inflammation? Misty, are you using a gathering foot? Could not see anything you've done. Camera wasnt position correctly. Thank you for teaching this .

It's a cute apron but how do the straps tie? All I saw was they cross in back, where do you go from there? If they go through the rings on the sides, then they'd be too short to tie in front.

I have some adorable "kitchen" theme fabric that I think would make darling aprons but it's quilting cotton. Thoughts on whether this fabric would work for this project - maybe if I use a double thickness?

I love this but I wish you would have shown how you attached the last step to the O rings. I must be dense because you lost me there.

When you put the apron on, the strips from the top criss cross on your back, you grab the bottom of the strap and slide into your o ring and tighten. If I understand correctly. Someone let us know if this is wrong.

Can Misti or anyone else give me a guess on size for a child’s apron? I am making egg gathering aprons for my grandkids for Christmas but not sure of the size for a kiddo. 🎄🎄

Hello, I have made a bunch of aprons out of canvas. I still have the first one I made 10 years ago. I’ve always washed on cold. They hold up really well.
