Having collision issues with this- in order to stop the ai from jolting on projectile impact have to set the projectile collisions to overlap however the blood effect wont work without blocking the pawn. How can I solve this?

Can this also spill on skeletal meshes? For example If I cut my enemy and it spills blood on the surfaces AND on my character, so that my character gets progressively more bloody like in bloodborne or dark souls
@UnrealCG2 жыл бұрын
No, this cannot do that, you have to implement that in the character character material. Or I think there is a decal effect like that on the market place.
@tylerclinton34756 ай бұрын
I know this is a very late reply, but… this won’t work because it’s a decal and it won’t animate with the skeletal mesh. If you haven’t already, look into Ryan Bruck’s mesh painting from a GDC sample. That’s a great working example using sphere masks in the characters material. I spent a few months getting it working in my project, and what I’m going to do now is use this blood material, and mask it onto my character from the particle collisions. That should work. Since I can already paint a material/texture onto my impact locations this should work to paint blood.

For anyone whos "G Random" and "R Random" nodes are not doing anything, just plug them directly from where they get created (after BreakOutFloat3Components), instead of getting them again as a new node. Hope this helped. I realized after min 18:11 that nothing was showing.

Hi UnrealCG thanks a lot for this tutorial. Pretty interesting. I was wondering for the blood decals ; with the first method there is like two layers of blood, the first one disappearing for the second then nothing at all. I found it pretty cool. I also manage to do the second method in order to have the decal alignement with 90° surface (at the end of your video) but it seams that you can't have the multi layer dissapearance effect ? Is that so ? Is it possible to keep this cool disapearance stuff AND the world alignement ?

Use a print node and see if the event is triggering when you hit it, if so, then go to the next event in the chain and see if it's firing and so on.
