cool yacht i too like making models of boats out of card i have built a few such as ferries and small boats i also have a few that i also built out of Lego i am going to build a few more ferries and i might have a go at building a model of the titanic and a container ship and if i can a hovercraft or two

Creative 6259, please teach me how to make a durable cruise ship. I'm making a cruise out of cardboard by taping it together, but I'm having a thought that it will fall apart once set on water!

yes,the cardboard ship will sink just after putting it into water. May Be you should make it out of plastic or wood. Or Try to cover your cardbord boat with some plastic.(Cover it perfectly that water would not touch the cardboard. Keep Your Motor separate from cardboard.) BEST OF LUCK..

i'd still want cardboard, does putting Styrofoam underneath the ship is okay?

It can work. By putting the styrofoam underneath the boat will protect it from getting wet. BUT Note That It Can Be Only used if You are not going to drive it by motor and only using as showpiece in Non-flowing water(i.e in tub or in other showpiece). If the waves would be produced in water then it will spalsh the water on cardboard part.so be careful on how you want to use your boat either as showcase model or working model. OR--you can use "car wrapper" on your cardboard to make it waterproof..! (Just Idea)may be it would workout. (the wrapper we use to cover the car color or to modify it.)

RobloxAviator1549 it's a special type of sticker used on cars only. Some people don't want to repaint there cars so they use car wrapper. Since when the owner of the car can change the wrap anytime they want to and using car wrapper won't harm the cars body which when painting we have to scrap of the previous paint. When cars undergo the process of paint removal, it scratches the body frame and causes the cars life span to decrease. Car wrapper won't harm the cars body which.
