Uh oh. This looks like a Christmas tree to me and I'm not even Christian. A few bright beads sewn on as ornaments and darker brown for tree trunk/bark. Oh, and a sew-on snowflake. And a larger yellow or gold bead or a snip of cup chain on the tip of the tree for the star.

Yes I did, it turned out fine. I used nylon 'silk' thread, that's a lot more slippery and a bit too voluminous for this design (eventhough I used the same thickness). It still looks nice though :)
