I was just going to ask this ... welding is a mystical arcane thing to me, and it looks very handy and allows you to do some pretty amazing things. Very impressive.,

I always like to wear my PPE when watching your videos. This however did cause a problem with my viewing experience, as when it came to the welding part filmed through the visor, I was double protected, and therefore couldn't see anything. I can only assume that said section was equally as awesome as the rest of your videos ;) Thanks a lot!

Excellent brackets. They are very strong and take up zero space.

Nice job, good bit of welding too

Nice ... looks as good as anything you'd buy at Home Depot. Is it better to have the brace piece under tension or compression in a weld like that?

First rate job! I think those brackets would hold twice the weight you have on them. Roy

What is the meterial used to make the AC outdoor brackets?
@amazing4513 жыл бұрын
To do small welding work like this can you use a blowtorch and grazing rods, if so what would be a good brand to buy.
@ultimatehandyman3 жыл бұрын
No, brazing is not the same as welding. You can often pick up a cheap entry level welder pretty cheaply. Once you can weld you can make lots of things ;-) Thanks for the comment 👍

a newbie stick welder here, your welds are beautiful but mine are always horrible, been searching on youtube for reasons and everyone says clean the millscale,rust etc. etc. you didnt do any of these so where am i wrong?
@ultimatehandyman4 ай бұрын
It just takes practice. I use an arc welder, as they will weld rusty metal, whereas a MIG welder will struggle. If you want a perfect weld, then preparation is key and having clean pieces of metal with no rust etc. will improve the quality of the weld. I’m not the best welder by far, in fact I’d call myself “the welder of last resorts”, when I worked on site- I would only weld, if nobody else was available 😂

Great idea. I know this is an old video, but how's it been holding up all these years after filling it with tools?
@ultimatehandyman3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely fine. The brackets will hold much more weight than a toolbox filled with tools Thanks for the comment

I need a pair of brackets like that, has anyone any idea where to get them from, or how much could you knock another pair up for including postage for those of us without welding gear or metalworking gear? Where are you, you sound like your in Bolton (UK), i'm in Wakefield (UK).
@ultimatehandyman8 жыл бұрын
I'm in Darwen, Lancs (in between Bolton and Blackburn). Unfortunately I don't have time to make you a pair or else I would do but I'm mowed out for the next 4 months. If there is a welding shop or engineers near you I imagine someone there might make you a pair from offcuts.

Thanks, i managed to find some on ebay from a small fabrication shop. I was pretty close with your accent though.

Did you buy a cordless dewalt kit or buy all your dewalt tools and batteries seperate
@ultimatehandyman9 жыл бұрын
+Keelin Black Originally I bought a load of different Dewalt gear from ebay and from car boot sales etc. But I ended up with loads of different voltage tools, so I sold them all on ebay and then with the proceeds I bought a Dewalt 18v five pack kit (it came in a huge case that was difficult to carry and larger than a suitcase LOL). Since then I have always just bought the "bare" tools, normally from ebay as you can get some real bargains this way.Thanks for the comment ;-)
