I made this casserole for dinner tonight. I added some cooked chicken thighs chopped up, left out the red pepper flakes and OH MY GOODNESS! The seasoning in the cheese sauce is key. Thank you for a quick and easy recipe!

I have a steamer and just steam til tender nit cooked all the way thoughiyse wild rice is what mine calls fir so tasty

I ALWAYS put either beef or chicken bullion in my boiling water, regardless whether it is rice, pasta or potatoes. Especially with pasta. Gives my linguine a GREAT flavor with beef. I also put a little mayonnaise & a couple of carrots in my potatoes, when I'm making mashed potatoes, plus a little mustard in my mac & cheese. Believe it or not, a little mustard makes the mac & cheese REALLY great.

I make this for pretty much every holiday with just a few differences. I chop up onion, bell pepper, & celery. I grate in some garlic. I use 1 can cream of chicken soup and 1 jar of cheez whiz. I sometimes put bacon in as well.
