Nigerian Rough Rock Buns. How to make the crunchiest rock buns. Step by step tutorial.
I am sharing with you a favorite Childhood recipe of mine. An old Muslim Lady sold this rough rock buns in my Secondary School and it was the sweetest most delicious buns I have ever ate..
The journey to recreating it started in my university days, i gave up at a point, recently I craved it so badly and went on to try again and guess what I hit the spot instantly, that was a very emotional moment for me.
Bad News is, we can't seem to have enough of this rough rock buns. The crunch of this Buns is everything.
This is how most Nigerian Buns are made in Northern Nigeria, however that dear old Muslim Ladies recipe hit a lifetime spot.

WHAT IS IN THIS NIGERIAN ROUGH ROCK BUNS
6 Cups All Purpose Flour
4tsp Baking powder
1tsp Salt
1 Cup Sugar
Grated Nutmeg. (optional)
Vanilla extract a pinch (optional)
4 Tbsp Butter
4 small Eggs, use 2 if your eggs are really large
1 Cup milk of Choice, use water if you don't have milk. Milk however enriches the flavour of this Rock buns.
