Pleas do not put hot caramel on a mixer. The heat can burn your skin badly and damage furniture around you.

Not 'can', it 'will.' It will burn your skin badly and it will not cool down. Boiling water cools down after a bit, but caramel stays hot and if you try to rip it off, you pull the skin off. Even an ice-bucket-challenge with boiling water would be less harmful than this.

Love chocolate and caramel paired together or not. Lots of great ideas here. I just made two batches of salted caramel that I used to drizzle on top of a Pavlova that has the Banoffee (sp?) flavor profile. Got some caramel leftover however I would hate to do many of those ideas cause I'd lose so much of that precious liquid yummy gold!! Decisions, decisions, lol...
