Cricut in moving back and forth, like a glitch, in the middle of a project. Dont know how to fix it

Thank you so much! Why doesn't Cricut guide us to washi setting for vinyl and intricate cuts for cardstock? So much waste comes because of this. Now, to remember!

How do you change the setting to washi ?
@kathyjames85272 жыл бұрын
@@biancam0920 It's in materials settings on my Maker.

When you hit the make it section. You can find washi under the materials section.

My machine does not show the blade settings

It tears white cardstock (any weight), but cuts other colors fine. I've tried both the fine point and the deep cut blades. I've tried different settings, including intricate, default, light, yada yada...It's driving me nuts. I need to use white paper yardstick and have spent hours trying everything.
@kristenscricutcorner2258 Жыл бұрын
That is so frustrating and odd. I would think it wouldn't cut any paper if it was a setting or blade issue...... you have me stumped.

@@kristenscricutcorner2258 I really appreciated that you took the time to respond, even if you didn't have an answer. I was using the same Reflections cardstock from all the videos for my project and that I was using for portions in color. After a dozen attempts playing with settings and blades and no success, I dug up some 20 year old cardstock from an old project and it worked. It seems to be something in the way the fibers of that brand are laid, perhaps. The dye also seems to help to stiffen/strengthen it in the colored versions. You can feel the difference in colored vs white, even though they are supposed to be the same weight. Anyway, THANKS :) Maybe my rambling will help someone else having the same problem. ;)

Blade seems to be pulling in places instead of cleaning cutting through. Parts are pulled up off the fabric transfer when cutting done

Sometimes the font is just too small/thin for it to cut well. It can also be your vinyl. I have found some vinyl stays on the backing well and others don't stick at all to it. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

Brand new fine blade and card stock was not cut through on only a few areas
@kristenscricutcorner22582 жыл бұрын
Did you have the right weight of your card stock set? You can also try to adjust the cut depth setting! Hope that helps! Thank you for commenting! Also you can send it through twice to cut but you can not remove it from the machine. Before ejecting hit the triangle button again and it will make another pass hopefully cutting deeper the next time.

Small fonts don't cut well on iron on vinyl
@kristenscricutcorner2258 Жыл бұрын
Yes it definitely depends on the font and htv. I like to use thicker fonts just to be safe and decrease my frustration. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

Sometimes the image is too detailed or small? Or the thickness is incorrect on the materials setting? See if that helps?

@@kristenscricutcorner2258 I have tried everything and it still rips. The odd part is that it rips on some projects and not on others although the material and settings are the same. anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I am disappointed on Cricut that they don't make it more simple. It shouldn't take an hour to try to figure out.. sorry, venting... Thanks again.

You may not have the pressure or setting right. Unfortunately all the vinyl is slightly different. I would try a test on the vinyl by making just a small circle and see how that comes out. Then adjust your setting from there. It will waste a lot less vinyl.

I tried to cut out a crown it didn't come out right... I also tried to cut words out and it cut some of the lining of the words out
@kristenscricutcorner2258 Жыл бұрын
Sometimes if there are layers they need to be flattened to make a single image. But that depends on what you are trying to cut. That works for stickers but not necessarily vinyl. I am not quite sure what you mean cut the lining? Can you clarify?

These are just a few ideas. So many factors play a role in your cuts. I find some images or fonts just don't work for me and I have to adapt. Best of luck! Thank you for taking the time to comment!
