@@kellyburrow8277 I prefer CP soap I think the quality of the soap is better ... But I think MP is cheaper ... It also depends on the quality of your ingredients the higher the quality the more expensive it is... But how I save costs on my soap I go to a lot of thrift stores or look online for used soap making kite/equipment.... Also I make soap every 6 months so I'll save up until I have a small stockpile then I'll make a large batch at one time....

Your video is the first one that I have come across that has explained exactly what "trace" means, the purpose of the temperatures (aids in saponification) and actually being able to see the lye getting hot. So I’m watching the video getting motivated and pricing everything that I need to buy to start. I’m like okay this my first time making soap but it looks SOO easy. Soda ash is also dependent upon the water content of the batch, and humidity of your environment. Once one is more experienced the liquid content can be reduced but it also accelerates everything - hence experience because speed is of the essence 😉😉. spraying Isopropyl Alcohol over the surface, once in the mould, will assist with ash prevention….But I actually quite like the look of Soda Ash - it enhances the theme of some soaps 😊

I just found ur channel and I luv it. Can I give u a suggestion? Freeze ur water for ur lye solution any liquid ur using for ur lye freeze it solid. Add ur lye a lil at a time and u will have absolutely 0 fumes. It does heat up just the same , but u will have absolutely 0 fumes or smell at all. And one the lye is dissolved or u can wait for it to go clear and then add to oils.

Hi! I really enjoyed this video it is very informative, just curious since you are using lye, how long do the soaps need to be set aside to fully cure? and should they be wrapped in plastic wrap when curing? and also what is the ratio of water to lye? I recently started melt and pour soap making and I am very interested in learning about cold press, but I am not sure the measurment's I should be using when it comes to lye...Thank you!!

Hi! I’m no expert, I made my own olive oil and lye soaps (Castile) years ago. Usually the soap is safe to handle after 24 to 48 hours. But the longer they sit and dry out, the better. A lot of water is still in the soap until it’s done “curing”. 30 days is great.

Soaping between 120-130F is quite HIGH! The process is more like,y to get out of control. Or scorch, especially with milk additives. Under 100F temperature for the lye solution and the oils suits me better.

Hi love how this message reaches you well. ❤️ When you say the soap should be 10 degrees from one another, what does that mean exactly? Does it mean to have the lye at 90 and the oil 80? Can you give an example? Thank you so for sharing your method of soap making. It so hard to find soap making classes up north. 😞

Thank you so much for responding. Also, do we have to be estheticians to start a soap or skincare line?

The turmeric soap wasn't ready after a day. That's when it got cut into bars. It cured for 4 weeks like all the rest. Thanks for binge watching ❤️🧼
