How to Make Compost Tea? Feeding Plants Organically!!!

In this video I am showing you how to make compost tea. You can buy compost tea from Boogie Brew, they have the best compost tea recipe. Brew the tea in a 5 gallon bucket. Compost tea is great for the plants and they love it. Make sure you are using rainwater or let the water sit for 24 hours to let the chemicals escape. The chemicals in the water is not good for bacteria in the compost. Place a cup of compost in a burlap sack and place an air stone in the sack. Place another air stone in the bucket and let it bubble for 24 to 48 hours. The stronger the air pump the better the tea will be. It is best to use the compost by the end of 48 hours. The tea can be applied at the base of the plant or it can be sprayed on the leaves. The compost tea can make the plants grow large and healthy.

Another tip for the dirt. Go get you a handful from 5 or 8 different parts of your yard. That way all the dirt is a little different with different micro organisms. If you don't have compost. Good video.

Yeah I went a little overboard with my compost tea brewer. I modeled it after one of them vortex Brewers. And upside down 5 gallon water container. Pretty sweet!

You need to grow your own worms for worm castings. Very easy and inexpensive.

I blended sea moss gel, water and a quarter sheet of seaweed and feed that to my seedlings. They grew their second set of leaves the next day.

HELLO DJC, that is awesome. I have to look up sea moss gel. I have never heard of it. I have used seaweed liquid fertilizer before, but not a sheet of it. Thanks for sharing because I'm definitely going to look it up.

How long would you say a bag of both last for you? I realize it's going to be different for everybody because of what we are growing. I only plan on doing two plants of watermelons from seed and I might buy a start. So that's 3 total. I only plan on using this compost tea for the watermelons. Do you have a place you recommend for the stones and the bubbler set-up? Is that something you buy at a fish store? Thanks for the information. I appreciate it.

If you are only using it for the melons, the bag will last a long time because the directions are for a five gallon bucket. So you would not put that much in there. I just went to a fish store and got the strongest air stone pump they had. I think the bag of compost was for 50 gallons of the tea.

Hello There There, I Have A Question To Ask You Here's My Question, My Mom Got 1 Gallon And Half A Gallon Of Compost Tea From Amazon, My Question Is How Do You Use It? Can You Just Get Some Water And Have It Set Out For 24 Hours And Then Mix The Compost Tea And Water Together? Will That Work? Just Curious That's All? HEY Travis!!! If it's composted soil. I would put it in a cheap pair of pantyhose and put some air stones in it for 24 to 48 hours. It sounds like it's liquid though so I would put it in water and just use it. I do my worm tea like that. It should say in the directions how many parts of tea per water. I hope that helps.
