Thanks, I used this method for many years in HO scale indoors using plaster and newspaper strips over wadded up newspaper. My garden railroad has a 6 foot mountain, cliffs, and water feature using the concrete method. Still good after 3 years.

Hey Mike, started this process on my layout and it is amazing! Wish I'd taken your advice about gloves at first though. Thanks for the thorough tutorial!

Wow! I've been looking for something like this, thanks for the great video. How durable is it?
@mjmtrains7 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! It seems pretty durable, still looks good after four years. Depends on thickness in areas where it might get stepped on, etc.

Thanks, with two little ones I'm more concerned about it getting climbed on.

Build it and they will climb

Anybody have any tips for a Person New to Garden Railroading?

can this be exposed to water features or can be used under the water?
@mjmtrains9 жыл бұрын
+Distant Traveler I have used the same method for a water feature. In that case, I used a couple cans of that "flex-seal" spray. Rust Oleum makes several colors, but then I over-coated with Latex exterior paint. I assume a couple good coats of latex exterior alone would probably be enough for years. in this video, you can see my stream and pond. kzbin.info/www/bejne/np-wpp2niqd4sNk

Would you be able to build a mountain 3-4 ft high using this method?
@mjmtrains7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, Just saw this comment/question. Mt Meterbox is more than 5 feet high, see my other videos.
