Bajan Cou Cou, Italian Polenta, Haitian Mayi Moulu - we take simple meal of corn and turn it into a creamy feast for the palate; sometimes the most humble dishes are the richest! Yummm!!! Yes to Fisherman's Pub, just don't try to go there on a Sunday like I did - they're closed - but luv, luv, luv their food!

Edit: I went yesterday on yet another unplanned visit and to my surprise and delight they have started to open up again on Sundays!

@@BajanLifestyles Moving through Town in the days and nights leading up to Christmas was such a lit vibe with everything being open late, I wonder if it will ever be that way every wknd -even if it's just late Saturday nights? It gave me such a back home feeling (my other home NYC) with high energy. I know it's not that simple, plus economics, over time pay etc. but BB became a Republic last year so keep hope alive for extended hours year round!

I am Barbadian, but from watching your videos, I continue to learn about new places/foods etc to try. Thank you for putting in the time and effort to bring these travelogues to us all. They are well put together, always educational and represent Barbados very well. Keep up the great work Sabrina!

Happy 🇧🇧 Independence, as you celebrate the start of the second year as a republic. So proud that 🇧🇧 has taken this huge leap forward. Never been a fan of cou-cou, but I can understand persons appreciating it, because I love mauby, and I can see how that isn't everyone's cup of tea. I have been to Fisherman's Pub, and yes, food was delicious

Thank you Cali. It is an amazing restaurant with such good bajan food. I am not a fan of cou cou either but it was definitely good.

When the cou cou is soaked in water, you will never get lumps. How manys minutes did he cook the meal for, because a miminum of 30 minuts is required, so the meal has to be completely cooked. A bajan will cook cou cou with only okra,s, thats how i said he was not a true bajan. We would only use okras in the meal with salt
