Most of your recipes are so family-friendly, as in "not a lot of work", so I can easily cook some wonderful meals for my family even on work nights. Not only is the food great, but seeing those happy faces around the table is just the best. Also, I really appreciate you trying to provide the ingredient amount in grams, makes the process a whole lot easier for me. Another superb video, thanks for the content! :)
@SipandFeast2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! All of my cooking is for my family so the content I make is meant to be easier recipes for at least 4 servings. I am going to do my best to provide grams on all recipes going forward.

@@SipandFeast And always remember, the audience can look up an ounces to grams converter on the Internet just as easily as you can. 😆 I think what's important is to try to give dry ingredients like grated cheese in weight, not volume, since that can vary pretty widely depending on how fine the granules are, be they cheese, salt, etc.

Yes so happy when I saw it! I love the recepies, but it is very tiresome to translate the amounts while shopping or cooking.

The beauty of this video is the spontaneity of your family. Your wife talking to you from the sidelines, your son with his glass of water, then something in his hair, and finally the napkin poking in from the right. The recipe is great but your video is what makes it! Nice one Jim.

I have only watched 2 minutes so far but I just want to say thank you for adding grams to the ingredients. As someone who's watching from Germany, I almost always had to look up some of the measurements (like Cups or Ounces) so that really helps a lot! By the way, I don't think you need to add grams for stuff like Salt or Herbs, only psychopaths would measure 2 grams of Herbs and I think every kitchen has teaspoons :D
@Dwynfal2 жыл бұрын
Indeed, and I appreciate the metric a lot too! If need be some things can be measured by volume in ml instead of g! 1 cup = 237ml and that's usually rounded to 250ml to keep things simple!

Love the recipe, looks delicious. I'm glad you didn't even bother to address the so-called cardinal rule of not mixing cheese and seafood. Also, I'm with your son and your wife, I'd prefer it with pepper. By the way, you should hold a contest -- winner gets to be a taste tester for a day!

Thank you for embracing the metric system. LOL I remember in the 4th grade (1977-78?), we were working more and more with metrics, expecting it to "take over the world very soon." Still waiting! Anyway, I have always loved, for some reason, wide noodles - the wider the pasta the better! Your "bakery" like box of pasta reminded me of going with my dad to the Italian market every Friday. Thanks for evoking that memory. I miss him so much! Your shrimp looked gorgeous, as usual. I am glad you took off the tails - though to be honest, I am more interested in deveined shrimp. I get the willies when I see that "vein." haha

I use a digital scale that goes to 0.01g in the kitchen along with a regular kitchen scale. I get super accurate with small quantities for bread making mostly. Amazon has these scales. And 1 TBSP of parsley is 4g, just sayin. I love that you are really cooking and its not scripted. You include the errors and always say it will be fine. That is after all what cooking is all about. Messing up and learning how to fix it, or just going with what you have. Your show is 'real' cooking and it's perfect.
