If you do a hot water dip on them, it will soften them up. Just dip them in freshly boiled water and lay them flat to dry.

Can you do this same method on clip in extensions?
@doctoredlocks3 жыл бұрын
You absolutely can, but you will likely need to add quite a bit of extra hair to get thickness and fullness. We sell crochet clip sets, but they contain quite a bit of hair compared to a regular clip set - but definitely try it to see if it will give you the look you want. :)

@doctoredlocks5 жыл бұрын
If you are crocheting, don't be afraid to grab strands and pull hard! It will tighten up your frizz ball, even if it feels like you are breaking the hair - I promise it will start shrinking down.

for DE dreads would yoy do the same just in two parts?
@frolinetingles8 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thank you so much for all the information you provide to us! I could use them very well and finally I'm wearing my own done crochet synth dreads for the first time :) I'm happy! However they are quite dense and accordingly heavy..is it normal? Which kind of method do you use for doing yours if not crocheting them? They seem to be much lighter, more felxible and fluffier. It's possbile to do also light crochet dreads? And what about the marvellous slight waves in your dreads? How do you do them? Please share this secret with us! :) Looking forward to your answer! Cheers from Germany :)
@doctoredlocks8 жыл бұрын
Yes, crochet dreads can get quite heavy. It's a balance of making them too dense (and heavy) or not dense enough (too fluffy). Just try altering your backcombing to leave them a bit "fluffier" but without fly-away hairs. Does that make sense? Sometimes it's hard to put into words. :) I do all kinds of method for my hair - its a hodgepodge of whatever I was into for the moment, tbh. The slight wave in the ends - I like to put my hair up into buns a lot, so I twist it, and loop it over on itself - so it creates waves when I take it down. :) XoXo
@frolinetingles8 жыл бұрын
Oh, I see! Okay, I'll try that for my next ones!. Me too I'd like to try a bun, however my dreads are simply too dense to create it. Thanks a lot for your fast + comprehensive replay :) May I also ask you, how many SE and DE have you installed? At the moment I prefer the SE as they are easier to handle for me and the DE at the back of the head somehow look unnatural after 2 weeks..
@doctoredlocks8 жыл бұрын
For my human hair dreads, i think I have about 50 SE. I like doing DE better when I had temporary dreads - but I don't like SE or DE grow out after a month and the DE were faster to redo. ;)
@williamsgraham57426 жыл бұрын
Can you just do these the same way as the double ended that you done with just twisting and using the iron

how many packs of synthetic hair you should roughly use to make a head of dreadlocks?
@doctoredlocks7 жыл бұрын
Each pack tends to make about 7 DE dreads. So if a regular set is about 70 dreads - you would need about 10 bags. :)

Can we use the nodes and crochet metode as well like when we use it on real hairs?
@doctoredlocks6 жыл бұрын
You can pretty much do any of the hair techniques in a very similar way. The only thing that synth hair doesn't respond to is chemicals like tighteners (since the hair isn't porous).

Not happy with the faux hair "blend" used in my hair. They feel plastic and the smoothness was a horrible choice. The girl I spoke with spoke like she understood. Now? I am faced with backtracking because she didn't quite use her expertise enough. If you know a blend product won't work? Why allow someone to have them installed? Also, applying the dread extension AFTER was not the method, and the 3-4 inches over laying into my real hair wasn't a technique used either. Anyway, don't really feel like complaining directly there because it just keeps energy where I don't want it. Thanks for the tutorial. Planning on helping others once I master my own.
