Just some constructive criticism; You make some good content, and i'm glad i found your channel. You do, however, spend too much time talking about nothing. The first 8 minutes of this video seems like you're trying to sell us on the idea of creating the 3d mini models with DesktopHero3D, and not actually talking about the app. If we found your video, chances are we are already interested and are looking for an explanation. In the modern world, people grow disinterested in things quickly if there isn't any valuable information there, so there's a good chance you lost many views just because you took too long to get to the point. I've seen this same mistake in many of your other videos, as well. I would recommend jumping straight into the content of the video in the future to retain more viewers' interest. Keep up the informative videos, though. Really like what you have so far.

Jimmy Satterfield Even though the criticism sounds good, selling the idea of the video is a good thing. It could be more concise, but removing it altogether would be worst. Moreover, refining a video script can make the production time of the video several times longer. Some creators would not even bother making a video at that point.

I don't think it's just you. I think I was having some issues with my audio processing more on one channel - a few people mentioned that on my first video and I made some changes to adjust it, but I think it might have something to do with my raw audio input from my mic. I'm gonna double check and run a few tests - thank you for your feedback!
@roberthermosillo57276 жыл бұрын
I noticed it in a more recent video too. "How To Print Resin-Like FDM Minis on $200+ 3D Printers (Printing The Game #2) " The sound is slightly asynchronous with the video. The audio precedes the video by a just a few milliseconds. But humans watch other humans speak so much, that the slightest delay will stand out.

DesktopHero3D is awesome! But I've tried moving bone groups with the pose tool by holding G and it doesn't seem to work. How did you do your anime pose?
@3DPrintedTabletop6 жыл бұрын
I agree! So with the bones - I didn't do groups, I'd select one bone at a time, and I mostly rotated them accordingly. I only moved them or scaled them if there was a part sticking out or something. If you look, you can hold down different letters (I think it's G, R, and X or Z - something like that) and that'll do different actions when you move the mouse left/right. And other then that I used a pose for reference (literally I used a picture of Kirito from SAO to model it). Hope that helps Edoardo!

I'd suggest to look up anycubes photon printer for a good quality relatively cheap mini dlp printer at about $450, but be very careful if you do, resin is toxic to the touch until cured; use nylon one use gloves, and smells horrible; cover it with a blanket and/or vent near a window, and is a mess to clean up if it gets anywhere; use a cheap aluminum tray under it in case of spills, and after getting the extra resin off of the print you'd want to uv bathe the alchohol to solidify and separate the resin to cure it and then filter the alcohol to separate and reuse the alcohol in removing the extra resin, and toss the cured wasted resin, which youd need to take it to a waste treatment plant if you dont, all of that's just how these printers work for the quality, and as long as you keep this in mind you'd be safe, but definitely look into them if you like making your own high quality minis, the pros and cons of the quality vs the risk ain't for everybody, but it's about the same risk as working with dark room photos
@3DPrintedTabletop6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! :) I just did a printer review (and included the D7 and the Photon) video and spend a good amount of time covering the Photon :) You can see it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYerqIWDepJprZI I'm going to do a video specifically on resin in the future because it's a different beast than FDM for sure (and the quality is definitely something to consider!)

I am just like you my friend. I had every character slot filled in EQ and Wow and I had two accounts and played two characters at once. I am getting ready to get my first 3D printer, I'm thinking it will be resin because of how much detail I want, and because resin printers can be in a separate room and don't need hooked up to my computer, I'm out of room for anything by my comp without rearranging the whole room. My main focus is miniatures and tiny basing items I can glue to bases.

Desktop Hero is pretty chill, but the interface for V1 is atrocious lol It would definitely discourage new people due to its lagginess and poorly adjusted elements, but there is so much you can get from it for absolutely $0 it's worth fighting through. I don't know why there are comments complaining that you took ten minutes to talk about the app when you mention it at like 2 and half minutes. I like that you talk a lot about the topic and are really enthusiastic about it. Yeah any video can always be more concise but that's more for short attention span types. I have a long attention span and don't mind chilling and listening to the video. I hope you don't start doing like the "popular" youtubers do in terms of editing. They all seem like they have ADHD. Or at least their subs do. And DnD/tabletop isn't for short attention span people. :{J

It's a shame compared to heroforge, i tried using desktop hero 3d but the interface is not user-friendly, i don't know before, but as I used it now it's confusing as fuck, if I want to add gloves for exaple it only lets me add just one on one hand at time, and when I tried to copy that to the other arm the entire arm disappeared, and there does not seem to be an undo button or command, it's very slow and does not load properly, and that's not because of connection nor my computer because heroforge and other things work perfectly, over all I had just an awful, horrible experience

Great informative video. I'm looking into 3d modeling because I want to make a figure from Warhammer 40k Grand Master Belial I have no 3d modeling experience but... If I have to learn a program to get what I want I will. My question is this... Is this program capable of doing that? Or should I not waste my time? If that's the case is there a program you know of that may be better?
@RGplayer1016 жыл бұрын
Can you scale the figure really big and repair it in mashmixer? This way you could get a higher resolution stl which you could scale it down the right amount in cura? This should help right?
@3DPrintedTabletop6 жыл бұрын
I've seen folks do that before! I think that the problem with their resolution is more the lack of detail and some of the geometries that are a bit wonky because of the flexibility of the program. I hope that answers your question - but definitely is something you can do to smooth some of the surfaces out (although they are pretty smooth TBH). It still isn't close to HeroForge - but for free, it's a pretty great alternative to be honest.

Streetwise, 5 is good, since the stories are different and KINDA disconnected. Although you'll probably not know many of the sub characters you can get, since they come from the previous games... just that, they don't impact on the story not even a bit. For Game mechanics, well.... i guess it would be better to start from the first one, since there are less features to learn... but i think 5 introduces all of them in a very easy way to learn.
