Hi there 🙃. I have been drinking dandelion beverage/coffee substitute for decades. Simington is one brand. For 10 years I have bought it with chicory root added, also chicory root separate for eyesight, in bulk. They are more refined than rough roots and I was putting 2 teaspoons in a 2 cup mug. For the last year I put 3 teaspoons. Like you I think it smells and tastes quite sweet even without sweetener (honey). If I go a day or 2 without a drink, I immediately feel its benefits in a mug from the next one. Once a day for me. Recently I bought 500g of dried dandelion leaf tea and honestly just with 3 teaspoons infused in boiling water 15 minutes daily I have an abundance of energy now . I heard their flowers have lutien. Thanks for your hard earned efforts to shine light on how to harvest their roots. Happy gardening. Keep safe❤.

Also .. Dandelion heads like the first yellow blossoms are edible and really good. Kinda like fiddle heads you gotta get them when they first bloom. Super yummy but dont eat them if the lawn has been treated for pesticides.

I think it would have been better if you had ground it to a powder, like grinding coffee. You would get more out of the roots then. I just drank Roasted Dandelion root tea, its very bitter but a couple of drops of liquid stevia improved it a lot.

Hi Matt, add roasted chicory root, also any of these ground ginger, maca root powder, ashwagandha root powder, black walnut powder shaga mushroom powder and grounded cloves powder This is a blend of alternative coffee. This is a experience blend but you'll have more than a yr supply. I get the recipe from two different companies and I combine the healthies recipes. You can start with one at time until you get your blend plus whip.in one Tbp of coconut oil with opt. sweetner. Enjoyed!
