First off I love everything about this. If you use air tool quick connects the female side will hold pressure. the mold would click in and out. When I built my smaller injection tube I used a male tip for the nozzle on it.

Hey Jesse! Maybe you could have a mold with 4-5 minis all in one. That way it’s less time consuming and more efficient! I doubt you’ve seen it but similar to how soft plastic worms are made for fishing! Just an idea!

Here for the algorithm. Also, if you add an adjustable extension to your shaft, it won’t require as much force from you. I assume you have it at the current height because your ceiling will be in the way. But with an adjustable extension, you can just extend it after it is below your ceiling height.

On your full size discs are you planning on adding a foil to the top? If so any idea on the process you would use or if it would influence the recyclability? I am curious because I'm just starting to try custom foil on my discs.
@TrashPandaDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Beckett! I currently don't plan on it because of the effects on recyclability and the waste it creates. That said, there may be some solutions to this problem that would make it possible!

I don't know much about injection molding, but spontaneously I would consider making a mold that can handle a few minis in one go. Since the machine could handle 6-7 maybe a mold with 3 minis would speed up the process. Especially for the minis it might work injecting in the side instead of the center
@TrashPandaDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
Great thinking Anton! Appreciate the tip!
@brucehartweg49463 жыл бұрын
I was just going to say the same thing, one larger mold to inject, but has multiple cavities. I was thinking like stacking 4 molds with a single injection point that branched to each one.

I saved a bunch of plastic lids to jars from my schools lunch program that fit the diameter parameters for the PDGA so the bigger lids did not get saved, this year we did not use much and I rarely save from what I have at home since we recycle them so I have only a few from home. Also in a single pocket is all the spares should anyone want a mini off white jars I colored with a Sharpie either Yellow, Red or Blue on the top flat part incase playing in snow with a thing often saying Mini Marker on it in another color Red, Blue, Black on the Yellow, then Black or Blue on the Red, and last Black or Silver on the Blue. I did with a Green Kraft Mayo jar lid try to use silver Sharpie on the top but it is having a hard time staying and one I used red that turned the top orange. I tried to make a Dark Royal Blue lid colored from a generic Mayo silver but that was a disaster and recycled the lid, This is what I did since most people if they barrowed a mini and were not on my card in tournaments I never saw those mini again, thankfully the major one swiped was cheap promotional mini and the other was one I bought from a Ski place, they swiped that souvenir mini that I never intended to use due to the Color it was, Dark Green or almost an OD military or darker green used in the original USA camo and also things like the Helmets and Jeeps since WWII.
@TrashPandaDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
Super creative and no injection molding needed! 👏

@@TrashPandaDiscGolf Nope I have if I could save say 100 or more of these lids to sell them on E-Bay As Mini Makers or at Local Tournaments selling as Custom Sized Mini, Each one unique and Putting my name on as many as I could if selling on E-bay and not putting that on the Minis I am selling locally. These are the White lids from things like jars of Hungarian peppers or for some Big jars of Mayo or Salad Dressing that we did not use this year in school due to Corona Virus Safety. I do make sure these are the smaller lids I get in the white since we get sometimes have jars that use lids nearly the size of the Mini discs that Discraft, Dynamic Disc, and The Michigan Gyro Trilogy make and those are not PDGA approved in size for a mini maker, a bit big.
