I rebuilt the robot and used your ino and the app. Everything works ... except for "stop". The robot leans forward, back, right and left perfectly steer only he does not stop. Only when I press the button on the Motorshield does the robot stop. Why is that? What have I done wrong?

Had the same issue, the error is in the code. There is a case statement for stopping the robot that isn't called. If you call the statement it works fine.

Great video, and thank you. I've watched a couple of your builds (just found you and subscribed) and wondered which you felt had more power? Specifically, on dirt.... this one, the one with the Gear Motor TT, or other I've not watched yet. Secondary question, is there any way to hook up a camera (arducam or such) with the motor shield? Never used said shield, mostly CnC/3D shields, but had the idea to build such a device to send under the house and HOPEFULLY, scare out whatever's living under there..... So a camera (even if sent to another device as phone has control app) would help/be needed for the steering.

I know you're doing this to work with an Arduino, but what about using the same Black Gladiator with 2 ESC's and a DumboRC 6 channel transmitter to control it? Can you tell us how to hook up the ESC's and how to mix the channels using the land based transmitter? No offense, but it might be nicer to control the tank using a transmitter rather than a phone. Looking at the wiring diagram, on the Blue Tooth module RXD goes to TX on the Motor Driver Shield and then TXD goes to RX on the Motor Driver Shield. Is that correct or is it reversed? Not everybody has an Android device. Is there a way to use this with iPhones and iPads? Has anybody used this to build one that uses regular RC components and controlled by a land based transmitter and receiver?

Dude, that is like a completely different module. There will be too many changes. Esp8266 works on Wifi rather than Bluetooth, so you will need to build your own implementation for esp8266. It means you need a different app for controlling it. You also need your own implementation for receiving data over wifi and sending via serial to Arduino. Hc-05 just receives data over serial and sends it to Arduino.

i got questions, i tried your codes setspeed (10) but 10 doesn't make the motor to work so i replace it with 100, i don't get it why you give the command 10 that doesn't even make the tire to shift? if you were planning to make it stiff why you didn't give set speed (0)? something wrong with your codes or the tutorial, after uploading the codes and using the arduino bluetooth app when i press forward 1 tire works but too slow (i check the set speed it's 255, but the speed was like 100) the other one didn't, but if i press backward both work, forward left both tire didn't work (idk why), left only 1 work and so slow the other one didn't (idk why, nothing's wrong with the codes, and nothing's wrong with the circuit because i followed your circuit), can you help me? at last but not least when i use battery holder A3 it didn't work it gives the power but not enough to power the whole things, A3 and A2 are the same 1,5V but in your video you can make it work with batterai holder A2, can you answer this?

Hi, I tried doing this project at home and pretty much finished it, but I just changed one thing: I'm using an usb battery instead. And yet it doesn't work. BT connects just fine, but the car won't move. Any idea about what I did wrong? Regarding the code, I've imported Adafruit Motor Shield library to compile, hopefully that's the right one. Thx

So I found out, in the video, tx/rx are reversed between the moment they are shown on the BT connector & the moment they are soldered. Now the whole thing works, but I have a new issue: the car is incredibly slow. Definitely slower than on the video. It's not related to the weight of the char as I tried liftening it to check that out. I've no idea about why :x

@@olivierbourlon3363 Might be because of the ext power u are using. He used the LIPO batteries. USB power supply might be slower with lesser amp rating than the batteries he is using, so the car is not getting enough current to move as fast as in the video.....not sure about it tho
