people in the comments saying this isn’t drum and bass... it might not be what you’re used to - i’m in australia and our drum and bass is wayyy different than this. doesn’t mean it’s not ‘drum and bass style’ as he says at the beginning of the video.

I absolutely love your tutorials! They always give me a great, easy to understand run down of the particular genre, and I take the concepts to write something I normally wouldn't, i.e. DnB for today. Thanks!

Why are the tracks sometimes marked in transparent blue? Isnt it when you freeze them? If yes, why you frooze them. Great work by the way!

How to make Drum & Bass *155bpm instead of 174* u wot m8
@MXCN_El10115 жыл бұрын
all jokes aside, still a good overview of some basic ideas for a more melodic style dnb (maybe like older panda eyes) or maybe even melodic dubstep if the 1/2 time pattern is the main and the dnb one is for a switch up. personally i dont see this tutorial as "drum & bass". I mean if you just search "drum and bass" on youtube i feel you'd be hard pressed to find a track in a similar bpm that isn't more focused on "old school" dnb. Still appreciate the tutorial and how well you show your workflow and also how easy it is for someone who might be brand new to producing to be able to pick what you say up at least from a concept standpoint, not necessarily how to fully use the DAW, but you've already been over that before.

Lmao so true tho, while I like both tempos I genuinely love fast drum and bass, my favourite drum and bass artist is acid notation, (accelerate as an example) and my favourite one of all time is !-anemotaxis-! By atundra, I haven’t been able to find any better dnb songs. You should check them out, I reccomend them. If you have any recommendations I’d love to hear them

I think that the track should be faster, around 165 - 170 BPM to really get that bouncy feel. Checkout "Watercolour" by Pendulum. Otherwise a very good video, keep up the good work!
