My mother remarried and me and my stepfather barely know anything about each other. I’m slowly introducing him to Warhammer (hopefully through kill team as an ice breaker), and after gauging that I’ll paint his space marine kill team in the colors of his favorite football team, I decided on doing the bases as a football field, to sell the idea they’re meant to be inspired by the team (otherwise they’re just silver and blue marines). So thank you for this guide, I needed it, knowing nothing about bloodbowl, it’s helped me figure out this basing scheme.

The tape issue could be solved easily by priming or painting the base before flocking. A texture paste would give it more 3Dness. I agree about not liking the grass too long, it's a playing field, not a meadow.

One really qq, how do you glue or put the mini after the base is done?

Since the flock is this, it isn't a problem cutting the tab off from under the feet of your minis and gluing them on flat footed. Or you can cut the tabs under their feet mostly off and leaving part of it and have it go to a point. Then you can glue and punch it through the tape or green stuff that you used to cover the base slit. Hopefully that made sense.

Thanks!!!!! I love my pug!!!!!! If you are struggling to get the hang of it, try to find a local mini painter at your local game store. They may be able to help you get jump started. If not, take a look at some painting videos for beginners. Don't stress, have fun, and experiment. Try not to get frozen with not being perfect or not knowing what to do. Hobby and have fun. :)

Another thing you can use the line for, is when you finish a models actions, turn it to the side and you can see which model is still able to act, as the turned one’s have completed their actions that turn.

Thanks, I’m really new to this and that has given me some great ideas. For example I have been wasting filler trying to fill in the slots when all I needed was some tape. I think I would put some brown down first before adding the grass - I think you suggested that anyway. One question though and that is whether to glue the minis on first then do the base or do the base completely like in your video. With the latter do you do anything special to glue the minis to the completed bases to ensure you get a secure bond?

You can absolutely glue the base to the mini first, and/or use the base slot if you want. It is really what you like or prefer more than anything. You can pin your models to the base of they don't have a slot bar. But with resin/plastic minis you can typically get them pretty secure with a good super glue. Metal minis you want to use the base slot or pin them for sure.

You can glue them on directly and or pin them on. You can also use the slot base and build up this base around it too. I made the video and realized I somewhat forgot to mention attach options. :P

This is pretty good, but have you tried to popsicle stick 'trick' for making the lines? I guess you don't need it, but it's a nice fix for people with shaky hands that can't really do straight lines freehand! Just get popsicle stick, brush paint on the side, and press the stick to the base.
